Very good experience in this pub, very beautiful decoration and good portions of food, it has a very big terrace with a bbq in the garden. Is pet friendly and it's close to the Withmor common if you want to go for a walk.
Fantastic experience at the pub! Great staff, great food and great garden! We gave them a challenge with 26 of us showing up and they did an amazing job. Food, drinks and staff were all brilliant! Thank you!
A Great Country Pub with good food and a friendly atmosphere. The Sunday Roast and Sticky Toffee Pudding can’t be missed!!
Nice spot for a light lunch during a nearby walk on Whitmoor Common. Soup was delicious. Will be back for more another time.
Lovely little country pub out the way. Parking is limited but managed to get a random spot in the mud. Food was good and timely and we have been here many times before. The pub was a little stretched staffing wise the poor staff were run off their feet as it was rammed. Tables were nicely spaced apart and covid safe. Weather was great so it was a very nice afternoon. Would always recommend this pub. Little path down the side if you fancy a 20 min walk to settle the roast.
Food was good I had the roast beef, others in our party had different dishes on the menu which they enjoyed too. Wasn't too keen on the table we were given, felt like we had been stuffed into a corner, and the staff seemed rushed. Overall pretty good, but given the prices these gastro pubs charge I have been to better, hence 3 stars.
We had lunch here earlier this week and very impressed with the experience. The food was absolutely delicious especially the fish and chips and the staff were super friendly and nothing was too much trouble. We will definitely be returning. Thanks Julia and David
Really lovely old pub, we came here for a Christmas lunch with friends and they really looked after us. The food was great and loads of it!, and the staff were lovely and super helpful. Definitely coming back again soon.
I’m afraid we won’t be returning. Service was incredibly slow as well as terrible. I understand places are busy, but the basics should be easy. No salt and pepper on table. Had to ask twice for cutlery for different courses. Then we had to ask for more veg as they bring it out in small dishes for the roast. Surely it would be easier to just plate it up. Not sure why boiled parsnips and courgettes are veggies for a roast?! As well as this our food was put down on the table next to us.. for a few minutes before the waitress realised there mistake. It just seemed they couldn’t cope.
My favourite pub. Lovely staff, great food. Great Manager. Dog friendly. Very easy parking. Highly recommend.
