Joined friends here for dinner. Our first time in London. They explained they are a bit of a chain. Atmosphere was nice. Reservations are highly suggested as we had a 4:30 dinner before a play. Great location in busy area. My wife ordered the shepherds pie which she was looking forward too. A bit disappointed as there was mostly beef and less veggies. She loved the creamed spinach. My fish and chips was OK, the bottom was a bit burnt but the fish was fresh and cooked correct. The chips were all small pieces, why? This is the second time in London I’ve received this. Our friends seem to enjoy their meals. Had to ask 3 times for a drink which was received after the meal.
Lovely seating area outside with heaters overhead to keep you warm. Yummy food and good service. 2 course meal menu was really good value and we all enjoyed our food. I particularly enjoyed the vegan and cheese burger not bad at all as far as Vegan burgers go Good spot just across from the Convent Garden Market. We didn't book, and managed to walk in and get a table for five. It was around 5pm, any later I'd say make a reservation. Thanks for hosting us
I don't think this place qualifies as an upscale restaurant where a dress code is required. We had visited The Ivy in Edinburgh and were quite satisfied with both the food and service, so we were looking forward to visiting the Market Grill location in London. However, the room was too small with far too many tables crammed together, and people were talking excessively loudly, making it difficult to focus on the meal. Our original plan was to order a full-course menu from appetizer to dessert, but due to the excessive noise and crowding, we ended up eating just enough to feel full and left the place quickly. The food and service were decent, but we won’t be visiting this location again. We would not recommend it to those who are particularly sensitive to noise.
We visited for having dinner with my friends. Their service was top-notch and the staff was polite and helpful. All food we had were marvellous.Food: 5/5
Early evening family meal that was lovely. Goes without saying that The Ivy is a legendary badge, so that in itself feels kind of special. However, the food too was very good, and the lively, bustling, busy and intimate experience was great. Kid-friendliness: Our children 16 and 12 were welcome and well catered for, ie a childrens menu for the youngest.
We visited The Ivy Market Grill for a pre theatre meal and were extremely impressed with the whole experience. Not only was the food beautifully prepared and exceeded our expectations The Ivy Shepherds Pie a particular standout, the drinks were crafted expertly by the bar staff and our waiter was charming and attentive throughout the entire meal. Considering the area and how highly rated the restaurant is, the meal was also reasonably priced, as there is a set menu that can be chosen from for pre theatre meals, and at only £20 per person an additional £5 for desert we came away with an extremely positive experience, without having to empty our wallets.
I was treated by my lovely daughter to a grand Father's Day breakfast at this lovely establishment. The service and the staff were impeccable. Just like the good olde days when I first trained in hospitality and which you seldom find these days. I ordered a Full English breakfast, which was nice. It isn't actually a hard dish to conjure up, says the chef. It was very nice except the bacon was of poor quality and overdone, but the dish was scrumptious nonetheless. My daughter had, bugger... I can't remember...old age memory. Anyway, she had a salmon dish that she said was divine. The only other wee complaint I would have is, I asked for a black coffee and got a two third full small cup, with milk on the side. Not the end of the world, but pay attention to the little things guys. Will absolutely be going back.
Pre-Theatre birthday dinner with three friends. Perfect service and very nice £19.17 anniversary menu available. They really splashed with a complimentary birthday dessert as well! Great to see English sparkling wine feature on the wine menu! It had been a while since I dined there as last visit had been a bit lackluster, but last night's meal has won me back!
I visited late at night for some small bites, and everything was top-notch. The food and cocktails were excellent, and the roasted tomato soup was the best I’ve ever had. The service was friendly, and the atmosphere was fantastic.Food: 5/5
