A wonderful place! Like being cast back in time. As if the bridge itself isn't impressive enough, the village is awesome. Quaint shops and great bars. Explore the properties and streets above the gorge to get a real sense of the place. Would definitely recommend a visit to Moonshine & Fuggles for a superb gin or whiskey served by a very knowledgeable owner.
The weather was perfect. The history was perfect. Being from Middlesbrough, the home of Iron & Steel to see Telfords bridge was a bucket list for me. A perfect pork pie and a pint of Guinness with amazing pork scratchings... We came just to see the bridge but had a lovely walk and took in all there is to offer.
Incredible visit , so much history in one place! Loads of museums to look at, although these are spread out along the gorge so you’ll need to plan parking etc. plenty of independent shops to pop in, a throughly enjoyable day out.
Great family day out. Lots to see, do and learn. The large number of knowledgeable staff playing different roles brought the place alive. Definitely try the victorian school lesson!
A lovely place to visit. The Ironbridge is well worth a walk around, under and over. There are museums and other attractions and towns nearby to visit. There are plenty of things to do, but it was pouring with rain on my visit, would have been much nicer in the sun.
Wonderful example of British industrial history. Well worth a visit. Plenty of museums and wonderful walks
Enjoyed our time here much more than I thought I would. The bridge is for pedestrians only and has great views over the River Severn. Impressive and still in great condition. There’s plenty of local businesses nearby to visit and we definitely recommend a walk along the river. Very dog friendly and welcoming.
Amazing 16th century cast iron bridge possibly first cast iron bridge built by a private investor, operating originally as a toll bridge with those who wanted to cross the gorge had to pay a small fees at the Ironbridge Tollhouse, now declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site Ironbridge Gorge.
Beautiful place, lots to see, nice touristy shops and restaurants. Good walks, but a bit muddy after rain! need to be fairly fit although at 78 I managed a five mile walk and climb through the woods.
Beautiful little place full of historical and cultural information just a small bit of the historical visitor area you can see. Worth a visit but there is so much more to see too.
