Firstly, they advertised on their website there was Car Parking so booked on this basis. Called them for some reason and found out then that there actually wasnt. Spoke to GM at the time regarding this and we came to an agreement after one receptionist was completely rude. Got to the hotel early to find the receptionist not very friendly or accommodating, in fact many of the staff were the same. We eventually got in to our room to find it very dated with mold and damp. As previously stated to us there were no other rooms available as they had a wedding there the weekend we were staying. The beds were so uncomfortably hard and affected our sleep. Friday we were informed that breakfast was between 8 til 10 am. Went down to breakfast at 9am on the Saturday to be told breakfast has finished because they had to set up the room for a wedding. So after a cold slice of toast and coffee we didn't bother going down for the roast of the time there and ate somewhere else. Then to top off our final morning the bin men were emptying the bottle and rubbish bins at 6.30 am, followed by the delivery of the drain men. Couldn't wait to leave the premises. £538 for 3 nights to stay in a run down building not worth that much. Having said all that Tenby was lovely especially The Habwr Inn, with a shout out the young lads working there.
This is a typical seaside hotel, clean and tidy but in need of a face-lift, friendly staff ,nice bar area overlooking the sea ,reasonably priced for drinks, breakfast was very tasty ,great location in Tenby 5 minute walk and your in the middle of Tenby town centre. Overhaul a pleasant night's stay.Rooms: 3/5
The hotel is dirty and run down. When we checked into our room I was shocked to see dirty pillows on the bed, walls peeling due to damp, windows didn't shut, carpet dirty and furniture old, we couldn't hang our clothes in the wardrobe as there wasn't any hangers also room didn't get cleaned for the 3 days we were there. Very expensive and the worst hotel we have ever stayed in
Great location overlooking the South beach beautiful building but needs refurb inside and out, rooms run down but staff at hotel made up for everything breakfast was good buffet beautiful views from restaurant spoilt by hole in ceiling and rain coming in from patio above. Ex shearing's hotel so explains things so hopefully new owners can vastly improve a hotel that has everything going for it and could be the best in Tenby. Very dog friendly as well. Rooms: Terrible need refurb especially bathrooms. Nearby activities: Tenby town walks near shops and restaurants lovely town at David's cathedral 25 MLS away, manobier castle worth visiting. Walkability: Beautiful walks along the beaches and town and along the coast.
I grew up in wales and left for America 20 years ago. As a child I remember this beautiful hotel so regal sat on the cliffs of Tenby. I brought my husband home and as a treat from childhood memories I booked the imperial hotel! Wow what a horrible sad shock. This poor beautiful building is screaming to be found again. Covered up by outdated cheap paint and boards, tired carpets and old un maintained corridors. It looked like a prison. It was moldy, no atmosphere and awkwardly unkept. Somebody come save this old historic gem and bring her back to the beauty it once was. Described as bespoke, it could not be further from the truth. Desperately ugly and very depressing.
Lovely hotel, clean & friendly. Amazing views. Beds were very comfortable & the room was perfect. Gorgeous views accross to Caldey Island. Lovely breakfast.Rooms: 4/5
Can't believe how many bad reviews this hotel has got brilliant hotel for the price staff can't do enough for you well worth the price we paid for self drive holiday Rooms: Bridal suite could have a party in it Nearby activities: Lots of bars restaurants supermarkets Walkability: A bit hilly but everything within 10 mins Food & drinks: Excellent choice and service lots of choices outside if you fancy
My husband myself and our 2 little dogs stayed recently at this beautiful hotel. We were upgraded to a superior room which was absolutely stunning with the most amazing sea views. Scaffolding was being erected for the start of a major restoration programme which did not impede on our stay. The staff were very friendly and professional. The hotel was spotless. Breakfast was lovely. The evening meal was gorgeous couldn't believe how good it was for the price and freshly made not ding ding food. We can't wait to stay again this year. Highly recommend this hotel.
Brilliant stay this past weekend here. 4 of us stayed plus 1 toddler and 1 dog. Customer service was perfect. We felt so welcomed on arrival and every time we passed through reception. It’s clear the hotel is a bit dated but it was spotless. Would definitely recommend and stay here again.Rooms: 5/5
Ok, I have read other reviews, here is my take. Loving it. Food is great, lots of choice. Location is fab, multi choice 3 course evening meal, help yourself buffet breakfast, no limits! staff are great! Beer is cold, thank you Martini and bar staff. Basic room, a bit warm but we arrived with a couple of fans so no worries! Slept well. Not wheel chair friendly!!! Mad maze to get to the room, but there is a lift. Due to renovation to the outside of the building, scaffolding is up.spoils nothing. Cheapest parking is a couple of minutes walk along the promenade, 72 hrs is £20. Slightly closer ...I mean slightly, is £10 per 24 hrs. Family and dog friendly. Would I stay again? 100% YES.
