Story

The House of Bruar Wildlife Art Gallery
Our Wildlife Art Gallery is home to a carefully-curated selection of Scottish landscape paintings and animal sculptures that capture the essence of rural Scotland in all its dynamic and majestic beauty. Scotland has long been a source of inspiration for painters, sculptors and poets thanks to the untamed, isolated grandeur of its sweeping Highland landscapes and the indomitable nature of the wildlife that lives there, and our gallery exists to ensure that a new generation of contemporary artists can find the wider audience that their work deserves.

Scottish Landscape Paintings and Animal Sculptures
Our gallery features stunning Scottish landscape paintings and wonderfully evocative animal sculptures from both established and up-and-coming artists with a strong connection to Scotland. From brooding and turbulent watercolours that capture the bleakest aspect of the Scottish hills to stunning sculptures in bronze and silver that depict the hardy vitality of Scotland’s native flora and fauna, the Bruar Wildlife Art Gallery reflects the many faces of rural Scotland in a breath-taking cascade of richly expressive forms and figures.

Sometimes playful, often striking but always memorable, our Scottish Wildlife Art Gallery hosts a multitude of items that affirm the unique artistic heritage of this singular nation.

Some of the friendliest staff I've ever encountered. We visited early in the morning and it was quiet and all the staff engaged with our toddlers and had conversations with them several times. Delicious breakfast at the restaurant. Great selection of toys. My son fell in love with a wall full of John Deere tractors and my daughter loved all the bears. It was a very nice but costly experience! After shipping and breakfast we took a walk outside up to the falls - it was icy conditions so we didn't make it all the way but the walk up to where it got too icy was beautiful. Lovely woods and views of the river.

Friendliest and most helpful staff that I've ever met! Wide range of quality clothing and an excellent selection of Harris Tweed. Staff in this department were particularly helpful, knowledgeable and to put up with my indecisiveness, extremely patient!! Restaurant offers cakes and pastries to die for and top coffee. Other meals looked fab too. Quality butcher, deli and choc/sweet section . Lovely suede and leathers too ( coats, bags, shoes and boots, etc. ). Wide ranging selection of homewares and gifts. There's also a large sale shop, where you may bag a bargain in suede or leather, cashmere, etc.

This place is amazing! We only looked at the food as we are massive foodies. Yes you pay a premium because most of the produce is premium. Is a great place to stop and treat yourself to some excellent local produce that Scotland has to offer. Most definitely worth visiting.

A very high end luxury and country clothing shopping centre which also sells various household furnishings, hunting / fishing goods and trinkets. The specialist delicatessen is exceptional selling everything from unusual gin to freshly butchered game. While the shops are well out of our budget (to be honest the shops would be out of most working class household budgets) there's a nice walk up by the river to some waterfalls and the cafe serves excellent and well priced food. A nice place to go for an afternoon out or a to stop during a journey up or down the A9- regardless whether you can afford to shop or not!

Great place to spend a day. Large selection of products, some of which you don't see elsewhere. Products are high end so be aware prices do reflect that. Good lunch at the café although it can be very busy. Staff are polite and helpful. Once you are done shopping you can take a walk up to the Falls of Bruar for a beautiful view but, I would recommend decent walking shoes particularly in the winter months. Then if you have worked up an appetite there is as chip shop on site where you can even purchase lobster and chips. Parking is free and they have a special covered parking area for people bringing dogs.
