Good breading on the fish chips are good and crispy! Fish is a little dry. Not super greasy which is nice! Good size portions and good price! The cod supper is just fish and chips and it’s 12.45£ and getting the large chip and cod comes to 11.75£, so a little cheaper. Also I didn’t know this but ordering just the cod comes with chips already.
Ordered 2 sausage suppers and 2 portions of sausages was initially told 20 mins… 1 hour later I’m still waiting to got a mediocre portion of chips and poor sausages tasted good but not worth the 1 hour wait with people coming in and ordering after for bigger orders. Does not deserve to have the title “award winning” at all. Over all shocking the time having waited
Hardly an awarding winning fish and chips. All batter and no fish. Disgraceful meal. What fish there was was dry and horrible. Won’t be back here.
Well well well! When i went to Hip Chip 2 i never thought I would find more scrumptious scran. I was most definitely wrong, boys a dear. Absolutely out did themselves here lads. Hip Chip 1 is the predecessor all predecessors want to be. This is by far the best chippy out there. Delicious scran right here. Let that be no lie!
Delicious! Great sized portions and friendly service. Removed one star for the long wait that wasn't communicated when we ordered.
Usually love it here and the cod burger is my favourite. However this visit was a huge disappointment. 3 of us into empty shop at lunch time ordered 2 cod burgers and one cod and chips. Two people working and we had to wait 25 mins for food and when it arrived it was not great. The batter that is normally wonderfully light and crispy was just soggy, the bap for the burger was dry and fell apart. Not cheap either at £8 for one below standard burger and no chipsthey used to add a little handful of chips with burger. I won't be returning. Shame
Went in at 7.10pm told it would be 15 mins , finally got our award winning fish and chips at 8.00pm . What award they have won i do not know , but it definitely wasn't for their fish and chips . Feel like they were focused on the online and phone orders, must have been 12 customers waiting while they piled the bags on top of the fryers going cold waiting for the driver . Chips weren't proper chips and the fish that was there was dry and burnt. Avoid at all cost .
Ordered a delivery at 530pm. Still no delivery by 750pm. We called the shop and they told us it was ‘in the pan’. By 830 it still hadn’t arrived so we went down to the shop. I explained the situation and they told me it was just ready so either they lied to us when telling us it was in the pan at 750 or it had been sitting there all that time??. No apology. The two staff we spoke to just shrugged their shoulders and blamed the delivery driver. I requested a refund of the delivery charge and the staff member practically threw it on the counter towards me. The fish and chips were good but the chicken burger was mostly hard batter. I completely appreciate that places can be busy or that delivery drivers can let them down but I don’t appreciate being lied to or poor customer service when they can’t even apologise for the poor service. In fact if they had have made some sort of apology or been pleasant I wouldn’t be writing this review. Wouldn’t recommend, sorry.
Amazing portion sizes; absolutely delicious food! This is where I'd recommend to stop for food if you're visiting the Giants Causeway! They have a takeaway shop and a restaurant! Honestly the best fish and chips I've ever had!!!
My local chippy.... Chips are always top class... Goujon wrap is my number 1 item to get.... Goid prices also :
