Good things firstnPeople are really good friendly and happy treating the customers.nBut the food is really not worth the money.nChicken wrap was good.nFish n chips were really bad. Fish was soaked in oil and chips felt old.nAnd coffee was disastrous. Wouldn’t risk to go there again.
Grand walking tours on youtube... Kim from the bar accross the way suggested here and i was delighted ... i got the chips and the super burger. Both lovely and filling.
We ate here on a busy Saturday night! The food took a while but we didn't mind because it was so so good! Lovely and fresh! We both got scampi, chips and a tub of curry sauce to dip! It was delicious. The service was great, the staff were lovely and it was nice to see them having the craic with the locals! We can see why it's so highly rated!
Good place for a takeout meal. The chips were great and the Philly steak was pretty darn good - greasy and flavorful, close to how Penn Station makes it. The fish was fresh but the batter fell apart a little too easily. I highly recommend getting the garlic sauce with fish and chips on top of the usual salt and vinegar. The mushy peas were alright. But definitely get their Philly steak!
Parking is not ideal but a public car park nearby.nService was friendly.nShop was modern and clean however the door was being kept open resulting in it being freezing.nLike every other fish & chip shop in the north coast prices have risen quite a bit.nThe chicken fillet burgers was over £5 which seems standard now.nWas served in a good quality bap with good garnishing. The batter was not too greasy and the burger itself was very tasty. Only negative was the chicken fillet itself was smaller than expected - if normal size the food would have been given 5 stars - looking at the photo it looks bigger than it actually was.nDefinitely one of the best chip shops in the area.
