Edited review: it seems that the chef has changed... My previous review was glowing, so don't think I'm a negative person! This restaurant used to be really nice - food, service and atmosphere. Now, it's not. The waiters are clumsy - no attention to detail - basics such as taking the orders for the ladies first were forgotten. Courses were bought out too hastily - one needs a little time to relax and have some conversation! Starters, mains, desserts and wine cost around £40 per person, and the quality of food is passable - my steak was chewy and not that great, but not bad enough to send back. Portion sizes are small, so unless you have a starter and main, you'll be hungry.
NOTE: The restaurant now has a different chef so I am not sure if the review below is still applicable. This restaurant is brilliant! The chef serves creative, modern food that is cooked to perfection. The dishes look and taste refreshing and interesting flavors are combined without exception. From starter to desert, everything is beautifully presented. The staff are friendly and helpful and the decor provides a comfortable environment to enjoy a great dinner. This is probably one of the best restaurants in Oxford.
Nice staff and venue. Good unfussy food. There was a draught from the front door but that you would be nit picking really.
Rather slow service. Quite small portions of not particularly special food. Price is pretty good, especially with special offers.
An excellent place to eat on Oxford's High Street.
