From the Thursday evening ‘street food’ menu, I had the gnocchi with wild mushroom ragout. I found it so greasy as to be inedible. The gnocchi were unrecognisable as such- oily and soggy. Everything was so covered in basil? oil that it quickly seeped through the card box in which it was served, settling in a pool on the table. The only things I managed to eat were a few shreds of toasted walnuts which somehow escaped the dowsing. Please restore the good name of the Hepworth.

I've been wanting to try the café again since it was taken over by Masterchef finalist, Chris Hale. Had the Brosters sausage sandwich. The sausage tasted nice and there was a generous amount of filling. The downside was that it served tepid in breadcake that was starting to turn stale. The tomato and chilli jam lacked flavour with no hint of chilli. My flat white was bland with only a hint of flavour towards the dregs at the end. It's a shame, as I feel that the café has is full of promise, yet bitterly disappointing.
