We just had our works Christmas Lunch at The Helyar Arms today. What a beautiful pub. All the staff were lovely and friendly and very helpful. The food was lovely and hot and very tasty. The menu had so much choice, everyone found something they liked. They wasn't disappointed either. We will definitely eat here again. I might bring the family next time
Great staff, rooms, food and drink. Patrick and Claire the landlords have this lovely pub just right for an enjoyable evening with friends and family. I stay there regularly for work it's home from home. Looking forward to the next visit guys!
We hadn't booked a table for lunch, but they found us a table even though they had a large party of 28 people coming in for lunch. The service was very attentive and the food was delicious. Would recommend the Helyar Arms to anyone who wants a real pub experience. The log burner was very welcome on a cold, damp winter's day.Service: 5/5
We held a wake here recently and stayed overnight. Great value. First rate service, excellent food, clean, warm, comfortable rooms. What more could you ask. Outstanding.
Beautiful, spacious pub in a quiet location, food was very nice however the only issue being our side dishes were forgotten, & although raised twice we were eventually refunded instead of rectifying. Left a tad hungry!
Nice atmosphere, good service, nice food and very popular. Traditional wood beam, country pub with adequate parking. Happy to go back given any excuse.
Went for Sunday lunch on 23rd Oct . Yorkshire pudding burt food not very hot . Sent back cold food they brought more out but was still cold so wasn't happy as was a birthday meal with family and friend. Service appaling. Staff not even smile or not appolajetic towards are group.
My husband had fish and chips. The fish wasn't cooked properly, the young gentleman waiting on our table was very apologetic and very polite, offering to replace the meal or a full refund which my husband accepted. However, we all felt that the responsibility should not have rested with this young man. The landlord, who at the time was behind the bar, should have been the one dealing with this matter. Our friend and I ordered a chicken burger at £12:00 and I asked the waitress if that came with chips. She replied No there £3:00 extra" This is the second time we have eaten at the Helyar and are very disappointed. In our opinion, the food served does not reflect on that of the written description on the menu or that of the price. The staff were ill informed and unable to explain what certain dishes comprised of on the specials board.
We came to The Helyar Arms for a small wake. It was a beautiful pub, the staff were absolutely lovely, and the food sandwiches, sausage rolls and scones was delicious. Food & drinks: Delicious and fresh.
Amazing Sunday roast, quality ingredients and really good value.... Actually, I want to be able to go back every week so I'm going to say you'd hate it!!! Definitely not your cup of tea ,Service: 5/5
