I was verry dissapointed with the restruant, the waitor who was a very friendly guy especially the manager who was working really hard. However during my time when my food had arrived i had found a strand of hair on my food when i went to complain to the chef he spoke nonsense in his language when i told him to speak english he told me to f off , after that we got into a heated debate, the manager came immediatly and stopped it before it had become a violent scene, i had asked the manager for his name and his name was bul bul if the owner of the place is reading this please let go of workers like the chef they put a bad name to your restruant. The curry was really different especially the butter chicken which was tamato sauce, being a daily customer i had realised the food has changed over the years.
Wonderful Indian restaurant. I went there a week ago for dinner. I was with a friend and we were warmly welcomed and treated really well through the whole night. Food was great but it was way too much - I couldn't finish my meal. Anyway, I'd definitely go again as it really may be the best Indian place in Eastern London.
Hayfield Masala was the venue chosen for a recent engagement party. It is important to share the experience and failure of the establishment to provide a service of any substantial standard. The day began very slow on arrival with the restaurant yet to be set up with the correct amount of tables to cater for our guests which caused much delay. Despite clear instructions stated beforehand, the bride's main stage was set up at the incorrect part of the restaurant. Many did attempt to rectify this mistake however they became very sour and confrontational. It is a great shame to say that the day did not run smoothly after the initial mistake regarding the set up. There was a huge issue with the behaviour and attitude of some of the staff at Hayfield Masala. The rudeness and disruptive behaviour of the waiters is inexplicable. Whilst attending to our guests, the waiters carried themselves appallingly; slamming down bowls of food and making several rude comments. This awful display of character and service reached a new low when a gift basket, intended for the groom, was stolen. Two waiters were found to be the culprits. No appropriate or severe action was taken by the managers of the establishment to address this wrongdoing. The management lacked authority and true remorse. What was even more ridiculous was their attempt to silence the whole disruption caused by the theft. After several calls for immediate action, it took the threat of contacting the police to ensure the matter was resolved. All these factors combined created much havoc, disappointment and embarrassment on a day where two families are brought together to celebrate a beautiful and important moment in life. I would strongly discourage anyone who may be interested in hiring Hayfield Masala for any such occasions in the future.
I was happy an pleased about the place. The waitor and the manager was very freindly and polite with me. However, the chief made disrespectful remarks in his language i could remember the hurtful phrase which he kept repeating "somalionor baicha" which i have no idea what it meant my bengali friend told that he was saying rasicst remarks about me. I had realised the butter chicken tasted odd the sauce was tomato sauce.
I completely disagree with Rahool in regards to Tayyabs being the only place to go. Roughly 10years ago the management changed and the original man uncle Tayyab changed over to a younger batch of staff and the food has never been as nice as the 90's and early 00's. With regards to Hayfield the food here is the best value in terms of taste and quantity in this price range of roughly £10-15 per head in all of East London. I'm not biased either as my father knew uncle Tayyab so well!
Have to completely disagree. Staff tend to look after regulars rather than somebody new. If you go when they are quiet, the staff more bothered about talking to each other than looking after customers and if you go in on your own than don't expect food to be served quickly. Without stating the obvious but the only place to go is Tayyabs. You may have to wait but it's worth it!
Absolutely disgraceful service horrific service standards by waiters. we went to our cousins engagement party there was not enough seating my wife was left standing at the table and asked the waiters six times for a chair each time she was ignored or told it was coming. I asked the waiter for more red sauce after the fourth time was told it was finished waiters were very rude with bad behaviour and one half of the restaurant stank of sewage absolutely disgusting management and organisation lacked flare and lustre. Never going back to that place again.
Honestly, the food was ok but they never had any vegetable curry which was disappointing since that's my favorite! oh and not to forget they play great music! :
Worst ever restaurant. worst service, food. From owner to staff very very bad behaviour, unbelievable. No way. No customer service. Owner talks like we are having a free meal.
Great food at very affordable price, highly recommend to all that love indian grill and authentic curry! ;-
