My friend enjoyed the fish curry. The only thing i liked was their Biryani. But the curry sauce was a bit dead. A bit too much sweet texture. The reason for 3 star is because of Customer service. The phone handler seriously need to work on his communication skills and give time for Customer to say what they want to order and not just rudely cut the phone in the middle.
Ordered from this place on Just Eat and had a pleasant experience. Nice place with a wide selection of main dishes and desserts. I ordered a Chicken Tikka Vindaloo which was hot hot hot !!! Seriously do not order this dish if you don't like spice. I do like spice and had burnt taste buds. Great for winter . They also do Pistachio Kulfi which is an Indian ice cream. Good takeaway with fairly good service. 5 stars for effort.
Amazing vegetarian and vegan choices throughout the menu. We must have ordered takeaway from here 100 times over many years and it's always delicious. Favourites are the Quorn dhansak, paneer tikka shaslik, paneer saag the main course version, which is dry and spicy, not the sweeter creamy side saag paneer, chana masala side, garlic mushroom side, lemon rice. Delivery times are usually OK, especially if you order earlyish. Vegetarian options: Vegetarian and vegan options with all the sauces.
Wrong items sent in delivery. Lamb chops 90% bone. Worst saag paneer ever, it tasted overly sweet and coconutty, even though there's not even supposed to be coconuts in there. Butter chicken was covered in so much yogurt that the sauce was completely white. Tasteless roti. Never ordering from here again!!!
Food was delicious, the garlic naan was great and the madras had the perfect amount of spice. The delivery driver did bring the wrong order first time round, but we called. The person who answered the phone was really apologetic, and got our actual order to us quickly. Bonus, they were kind enough to let us keep the first order too! Will get again
Absolutely stunning 3 meals delivered to our hotel in Stratford. I had a chicken and mince combined main course and it was just sublime.
Find some of these 1/2 star reviews crazy. Being from Brum I know what a good curry is and I’ve often struggled to find decent curries in London. Ranna is going to be our local now. Ordered twice, both really consistent, delicious, reasonable and on time. The chicken biryani is great, had a nice kick and goes well with the dall. Meat samosas and paneer also good. Can’t fault it, but not 5 stars as I can’t put it in the same category as some of the best I’ve had.
Food was 2 hour 45 minutes late. Came cold. Was lied to by staff and manager 3 times. Refused a refund. Had to spend a week chasing just eat for a refund. Not worth the hassle. 2nd time I've had awful customer service from them. EDIT: Ranna are lying AGAIN with their reply. I was NOT offered cancellation I was NOT offered refund. I WAS told 3 time the driver was 5 mins away. I WAS refused a refund and had to claim my refund through Just Eat. These guys are liars in case you missed that point. No way it takes 2 hours to get from one side of bow flyover to the other, no matter the weather.
The worst Indian takeaway I've ever eaten; if I could leave minus stars I would but Google insists that I award one star- given under protest. We had a flier pushed through the letterbox, the choice was good and the flier promised a discount of 10% for online orders plus free delivery over £15. That was a lie, it never happened. The food was more or less on time and delivered by a friendly driver. The meat samosa had good pastry but the meat somehow managed to be resilient and greasy and overcooked at the same time. An acrid aftertaste. Tandoori platter was good though some meats felt as if they had spent a second night in the oven. Potato side was OK, nothing more. A "speciality" had tandoori chicken dunked in a sauce which was far hotter than described. Yoghurt and lemon juice calmed that down but couldn't save the meat. It was stale and chewy; it felt as if it had been frozen, cut into chunks while still frozen then heated too quickly. I don't cook Indian food so I really have no idea how Ranna managed to make their speciality taste so foul. When I questioned the missing discount they somehow couldn't find my order, couldn't even find the day it was delivered despite giving me a multi-digit order number. The good reviews for Ranna delight me- good to see that some are pleased by their product; my experience is quite the reverse. Just the worst ever.
We have been using Ranna Bow for a few years now and it has always deserved 5 stars. However, this evenings meal was not nice. I dont know if you have a new chef or are trying to save money, but the food was not nice. I just spent £40 and most of it has gone in the bin! The Ceylon's tasted "strange" , the butter lamb sauce was pink and didnt taste creamy at all, just very sweet as if a cheap substitute had been used and all 3 naan breads were burnt black on one side! The Bombay potatoes and plain boiled rice were the only things that were good. Sorry Ranna, won't be using you again........
