I had heard good things about this place but I was aware it had recently changed hands so I decided to give it ago for myself. However, I won't be going back. From the look of the board outside I had to try an ice cream milkshake. I wish I hadn't now. After waiting for them to go buy some bananas and make it, it was nothing like the pictures you see on here! It was like sucking a whole banana through a straw. It had a bit of toffee sauce put in and a bit of whipped cream on top and a splash of milk but I swear down it didn't contain any ice cream or any of the other goodies they advertise. It wasn't even that cold. In fact, It was officially the worst milkshake. I was gonna have my lunch there later but decided against it after that. Such a shame

After waiting 5+ minutes for a coffee that should take less than 3 minutes, the outcome was more than disappointing. I first of all tried to order a Vanilla Latte (a common speciality latte) when I was told they were out of the Vanilla syrup; however I was told that White Chocolate syrup was near identical. Curiosity got the better of me and I thought I would take her advice (given she is the more experienced coffee connoisseur than I). The flavour combination was awful, nothing at all like vanilla and quite simply ruined the coffee completely! Second of all, I ordered a large. The price board indicated that a regular was £2.00 and a large was £2.40; what arrived was a regular sized cup filled with the awful coffee combination, stating that this was the large sized cup. And I was charged for the coffee plus the syrup (charged at 40p per shot) which came to £3.20; I'm no mathematician but £2.40 for the 'large' coffee plus 40p for the shot of syrup does not add up to £3.20 - More like £2.80! I seriously recommend that the owners of The Hatch re-evaluate their staff choices, the woman working on Friday 26th of January (pre-9am) should be given extensive training in their products at the bare minimum. Lastly, The Hatch should judge their sizes and stock quantity better. I've seen numerous reviews and heard many people (friends & colleagues) say that the staff at The Hatch have left during making their orders to buy stock! And the sizes of the coffee's are ridiculous for the prices that they produce; the coffee I received was well below the sizes of every other coffee shop! I will be going to Greggs or Merrie England from now on for my coffees!

I visited the hatch for the first time time this week and was really impressed. I had a really good quality latte and all the food looked delicious 😬 I received excellent customer service the girl who worked there was really friendly and made me feel very welcome. Definitely worth a visit 😀😀😀😀😀😀

The charm of the Hatch goes well beyond its welcoming exterior, bistro tables and chairs, fresh flowers , daily journals, the wonderful aroma of fresh ground coffee, delicious daily specials. the like only to be found in more upmarket hostelries. The welcome is always warm, the banter congeniall and cosmopolitan. Well Done to Brighouse and all The Hatch Customers for recognising that we all deserve a little affordable upmarket luxury, and the Hatch reminds us all that we are each and every one of us as individual and special as is our choice of coffee! Flat white please. Superb.
