We had a lovely visit to this pub. The staff were very friendly to us and our dog. The food was delicious and absolutely no complaints about cost, quality or amount. I had a pint of the local ale and can highly recommend it. Even better, its within 300 yards of a lovely beach as well. We visit Cornwall often and this pub is definitely on our list to go back to.
Lovely little country pub just outside Gunwalloe and an excellent place to stop off when walking along the cliff path for some much needed refreshment. . We had a really nice lunch of ham, egg and chips one of the best I have had! and enjoyed it so much that we booked for an evening meal later in the week. We weren't disappointed. Can get busy so worth booking ahead if you want to sit in a particular part of the pub.
Great service, brilliant food and plenty of it, at a reasonable price My steak was perfect. Pub is very welcoming. We called in one day on way to Church Cove and grabbed some takeaway Fish and chipsvery nice too, Food coming out looked fab , so booked for next night. Place is very popular so book a table
We were recommended to try the Halzephron Inn by the owners of the B & B we are staying in and it certainly didn’t disappoint. The Inn is 5 miles from where we were staying but we went there 3 nights in a row. All staff extremely friendly and attentive and the food every evening was excellent. The atmosphere was great and definitely 5 stars from us.
We have been in the past, but had forgotten how good the food was at this pub. We both had excellent meals, one vegetarian and one not. Nice atmosphere and staff, very reasonable price.
We've been meaning to come here for a rather long time, recommended by a few folks we know. I can only say that we weren't disappointed - well hubby, who is a die hard burger lover was very disappointed that the chap in front of us had the last wild boar burger so settled for the same as me, belly pork with black pudding, roast potatoes and a selection of vegetables. It was absolutely delicious and a very generous serving - I managed to save some room in my pudding tummy for a lovely raspberry/meringuey/ice cream and cream dessert, so pleased I did! OH had sticky toffee pudding which he enjoyed and he isn't usually a dessert person so I think that sums up the quality of the food here. I recommend booking as they were extremely busy at one o'clock. And, in our opinion, quite reasonably priced - 2 pints of Skinner's, one large white wine spritzer, plus our food, £60.
Lovely cosy and awesome little boozer. Meal very nice, expensive end of the spectrum for food. Mains and a pudding with a couple of drinks came to £100 2 adults 2 children under 5. Food was spot on though, turkey pie was a curve ball that tasted great... Also smashed the chips! Very very dog friendly! Very busy, warranted given the quality.
We visited for lunch on a Thursday. they there very accomodating for our group of 6 adults a toddler a baby and a dog. There were lots of vegetarian and vegan options which was great to see and enjoy.
My family and I ate at The, Halzephron and the weekend and thoroughly enjoyed our dinners. The traditional dishes were perfectly cooked, with the fish pie, chowder and hake inspiring particularly good feedback. The sticky toffee sponge was to die for!
I love this place, and especially love the Chowder. The staff are all lovely and friendly. I was allowed to park my campervan overnight in their car park so I could have a few drinks. Definitely going again when I'm next in CornwallLocation: 5/5
