The Halal Guys
"The Halal Guys legend began in 1990, when the three founding partners opened up a hot dog cart on West 53rd & 6th Avenue in New York City. As business grew, they recognized a huge demand from Muslim cab drivers looking for a halal food meal. That is when the famous platter of chicken and gyro over rice was born. And let’s not forget about the famous white and hot sauces!Fast-forward 25 years, five carts, two New York City restaurants, and millions of diverse customers served, The Halal Guys is growing yet again. Fans no longer have to be in NYC to experience The Halal Guys as they look to share American Halal Food all over the country and the world."

I always get either the beef gyro or the mixed gyro chicken and beef for a quick takeaway lunch. It’s only £6.99, so not bad if you want something tasty that you can eat quickly. Fair warning, the red sauce can be super hot so if you plan to add some, maybe don’t overdo it. The Halal Guys got popular in New York and serves decent halal food in a hot dog cart. Now they’ve expanded globally and it’s good we can have a taste of it in London.
Good tasty food! I got the chicken and beef gyro combo. It came with spiced rice, tomato, lettuce, onions and white sauce. They are famous for their white sauce and it didn't disappoint! However their chilli sauce is extremely hot, they always ask if you have tried it before adding some to your meal. There was plenty of seating and a bathroom which was convenient
Great food. The white sauce is good but perhaps slightly overhyped by many publications and news media's but none the less, its very good. The hot sauce is definitely spicy, they weren't joking when they tell you that it's really hot. Would highly recommend a visit to try it out.
Visited Halal Guys after hearing so much about their food. Their food is simply amazing. The flavours are bold and authentic, and their portions are more than generous. From the perfectly seasoned chicken and gyro meat to the flavorful rice and pita, everything is delicious and satisfying. The highlight of all is their WHITE SAUSE.Recommended dishesChicken Biryani, Chicken Wrap, Sauce, Burrito Bowl of Chili Cheese Fries with Cheese Quesadilla De Pollo Fundido, Falafel, Chicken & Beef Gyro
Recently discovered this place in New York and wanted to try the London version. The portion sizes here are obviously smaller, but everything tasted 99% the same. Really good food and still enough to fill you up. Will definitely be coming back. The hot sauce is hot so if you're not into spicy things don't add too much. It's not 'crazy hot' like some people say though!
Having met the three co-owners, seen the staff making preparations for the big day while going through some final drills, and sampled their main dishes, we can say that The Halal Guys are leaving nothing to chance with all their meat being HMC-sourced. For those who don’t know, the trio of Egyptian immigrants who first began the business in the 1990s – Ahmed Elsaka, Mohammed Abouelenein and Abdelbaset Elsayed – today boast 85 outlets across North America and the Far East. And having tried their trademark mayonnaise and hot red sauces, we can fully appreciate all the hype. Be sure to give their staple of grilled chicken and/ or gyro beef – a doner kebab of Greek origin – wrapped in either a pitta or served with rice, a try.
HOT SAUCE burns! I can eat spicy food but don't overdo this sauce!!! Went in the morning just after it opened, ordered a combo platter for £8.99 and a refillable drink £3.95. Price is a bit steep for what you get, so it doesn't feel like value for money as it still feels takeaway style rather than restaurant food. The white sauce is nice and acts like a dressing for the salad. Meat is not freshly cut but tasty and goes well. The free additional toppings makes the salad less boring. I would say the ingredients tastes as it should, nothing special nothing outstanding but decent. Fries decent, ask for extra sauce next time. Place is clean. They should open a store in East London Ilford, I would visit again for some fresh salad. There is more demand for halal food on this end of London
Not recommended at all. Wasn't really impressed overall. I got a platter not sure what actually makes this a platter because really it's a rice bowl. It was just about warm so it got cold as I was trying to eat it. Woman at the counter seemed quite rude. She either has a lot going on or she doesn't want to be there. She mumbled a lot, rolled her eyes and responded with a raise of her eyebrows.
Earls court branch food was ok. The amount of hype for halal guys was way overrated. The meats chicken and beef perfectly serviceable. Great that its halal.
Managed to make it just before closing time and staff were happy to continue service. Mixed platter was very nice, reasonable price and combo platter size was okay. A little more spice and flavouring on the meat would go a long way further but we're perfectly fine however I had a lot of the white sauce. I had a small amount of the red sauce, didn't find it majorly hot. All in all, the food was 4/5. I think ideally its 5/5 if you visit earlier on. The chaps serving were good
