Slowest queues in the world, not enough people at the post office have to wait in a big line just to return something or send post. There’s only ever one person serving when there are other windows another person or two could be serving on?? Not to mention the shop is ridiculously overpriced. Can’t be asked anymore with it.
This is with reference to the post office in the co-op. I had the misfortune to have to try and use the service twice over the last couple of months. The first time there was a long que with only one woman serving and another who seemed to be making herself look busy without serving. This visit took 20 minutes to post one item. On the second visit I arrived at 1245 to find a sign saying the post office was closing for lunch. It was the same woman who made herself look busy on the first occasion. I waited as there were only two people in the closed off que expecting to be served once the que had cleared. At 1250 the que had cleared and she guested that I should go away and she would not serve me. I will never use this service again; I then went to Alcombe post office who did not close for lunch and I was promptly served with a smile. I would suggest that if you have a choice you use the Alcombe PO.
This is a large Co-op on the high street with a large car park at the rear. The shop itself is well stocked with plenty of variety. There is competition on the high street with Iceland and a Morrison's Daily up the road so I don't understand why they are so expensive especially for such a large company. Bought a bag of maltessers for £1.50 next day £1.80, 4pints of milk 20p more than Iceland. Their price labels are confusing as well. I think this is why whenever I go into this shop there aren't many people there. It always seems understaffed with one person on the till. It's a shame for such a large Co-op. There is also a post office which I haven't used.
Rude staff, terrible attitude.nI visited on 23rd August 2023 at 16.15 and my experience was awful.nMy 76 year old mother asked for her cigarette brand in kingsize, I was shopping around the store and didn't know that the colleague on the cigarette kiosk snapped at her 'they are kingsize!' We asked another colleague about lamb burgers and he barked at us in response as they don't sell them. Then cigarette kiosk guy rudely blanked me when I asked him if my card transaction was complete, and reluctantly passed me the receipt - no eye contact, no thank you, just disgusting!nSo angry and unimpressed at the rudeness of these people, never had this begore, anywhere- no sign of customer service during this vile experience. I expected better from Co-op!
It's very easy to find high Street with a payed public parking area in the rear of the shop. You can find a post office inside as well
