A hidden gem in the heart of rural Worcestershire

We would like to invite you to discover a rather special pub. The Hadley Bowling Green Inn is a traditional pub recently acquired and extensively re-furbished by Wadworth and Co. Ltd.

Its tranquil location means that it is hidden in the heart of the beautiful Worcestershire countryside. The friendly staff offer the warmest of welcomes, and the restaurant delivers the very best in fresh English pub food.

What a quaint and friendly place. First time visiting for overnight stay.nnThe staff are very friendly and the room was lovely, bigger than expected.nnDecided to have a spot of dinner, my wife had the festive turkey, ham and leek pie which was exceptional. I opted for the fish and chips and savoured every mouthful.
Sunday Lunch for two. Lovely welcome and staff friendly. We were placed by the toilets on a small table and so I requested to be moved and we sat at a nicer area. Food warm in arrival not hot, should have been much hotter. Good choice on menu. Beef very rare too rare really. Lots of gravy but lacked flavour. Ample on plate but for £23.50 was average! We gave the lunch 6/7 out of 10 in our own survey of lunches out! Good pudding though. Will be back as we like to atmosphere maybe not a roast. Chris the manager very helpful.
Such a lovely place to eat, drink and meet with family and friends. We stayed one night and had a fantastic meal. Service was very good for our party of 9 and all staff were kind, friendly and efficient. A good range of beers, cider and spirits. Large beer garden out the front of the pub and the historical bowling green where the Gunpowder Plot was apparently put together! A board inside gives all the details. We have already agreed to go back again for another night or two to explore the area further. A great find.
Stopped off for lunch after a muddy dog walk.nWe were welcomed into the large bar area with a roaring log fire.nThe food was excellent as was the service.nAll the staff we met were very professional and friendly.nNot one bad thing to say about the whole experience and I’m usually hard to please.nWill return again but probably minus a dog the next time even though she was warmly welcomed. 11 out of 10
I’ve always loved this pub but this was my first time staying overnight. I was the only guest in the hotel and I had booked last minute. The check in process felt like I had become a last minute inconvenience especially for the breakfast chef. I also was awoken by the casks being unloaded right outside my room, with the people unloading having a very loud conversation. I explained this to the waitress at breakfast and the manager who checked me out and they both said “ you were lucky they were late today usually they’re a lot earlier” I asked about if I could have a had a room not directly above the cellar entrance but I was told that wasn’t possible. I don’t understand this as I was the room directly above them, and the only person in the hotel, surely there’s a room at least a little further away? The breakfast was cold. The English muffin wasn’t cooked. Otherwise it was a good room in a beautiful building.
