The Guelder Rose - Marton's
"The Guelder Rose is a friendly-family pub where generations can meet and enjoy delicious food and drink by the sea. What’s on the menu? We’ve got it all: classic carvery, super salads, big burgers, great pub grub, and modern British meals.Make your meal your own. Then, treat yourself to one of our legendary giant desserts or take a trip down pudding memory lane with old favourites. Too full? Our portions are pretty generous! Take your dessert away and enjoy it at home when your main meal has gone down and your tummy is ready for round two.Children of all ages are welcome. We have baby changing facilities. Our outdoor play area is great for fine days. The indoor Kids Zone is great for curious toddlers."

Very friendly greeting by Clare. Quick and efficient service. I saw an add on FB advertising the new vegetables on the carvery, the add made us want to go for lunch. We were not disappointed, the meal was excellent especially the veg, I tried them all. My only negative was I like my food piping hot and the dinner was warm. A microwave would have made my dinner perfect. Looking forward to taking friends.
Great place. Lovely, friendly girl serving behind bar. Drinks prices reasonable. Will definitely be back when staying in southport again.
The staff are amazing very friendly. Food was delicious. First time at southport and will definitely go again.
I came here with my dad for a quick lunch. The food was outstanding - I usually have carvery but thought I’d try the fish instead. I wasn’t disappointed at all! The service is always amazing here, the staff are the friendliest I’ve ever experienced in a pub venue. This is the reason we keep going back. We will definitely be returning!
First class carvery. Good selection of plate sizes... The large was huge but regular perfect for me. Great selection of veg, all fresh, including the crispy on the outside roast potatoes... Couldn't fault the food or service in any way. Highly recommended. Will definitely be back for more!!
Absolutely disgusting. Instant unseasoned mash, hard peas and sausages full of gristle. The person responsible for this garbage is obviously not a trained chef. I actually had to leave to be sick after finding and enormous piece of tumour in one of the sausages. I'll never go here again.
We usually come for a family meal once a month and every time it's such a pleasant experience. The staff are phenomenal and do everything they can to make it a great experience. Super accommodating for any specific needs or requirements, happy, approachable, chatty and you can see they work their socks off. My parents visit monthly and they get excited about our meal out here! Excellent job guys
I was really impressed with the friendliness and efficiency of the staff. They really seemed to care that we enjoyed our meal, and I could tell that they had the same attitude to all the customers who were there at the same time as us. The food was excellent and was ready sooner than we expected, and served with a smile. Plates were cleared efficiently but no-one was hanging over us so we were able to relax and enjoy the meal.
Absolutely loved it. Came to celebrate a special occasion and the staff were great, very friendly and jokey. We had food and drinks and spent well over £220 on the night but loved it! The menu was diverse and the three vegans present had mains and desserts which was rare for us! Usually can’t find anywhere that allows us to have more than one delicious course! Prices were great, pub was warm, clean and inviting. We will be back’
Warm welcome upon arrival. We were able to choose our own seat and opted for our favourite booth which allowed us to watch the sunset as we were enjoying our meal. Served with speed, efficiency and precision by polite and friendly staff. Carvery included very tasty, fresh meat and vegetables with plenty of selection and the additional condiments were plentiful and well stocked. Atmosphere was cosy and family friendly. Highly recommend visiting, as an extra bonus, plenty of outdoor seating for the summer months
