Probably one of the worst meals I’ve ever had. Got the katsu curry. They brought battered potato sausages covered in chip shop curry sauce. Was starving so tried eating one of them which made me almost throw up. Shocking.
Though I live locally, this is the first time I'd been here for many years. It was wonderful. Great atmosphere and good service from the start. Good selection of ale. Food was excellent - the large salad with my lasagne was indeed large, bursting with the freshest of vegetables.
A lovely local pub with a nice chilled atmosphere. It looks fantastic authentic moment all dresses for Christmas and seems to have so much going on over the festive period. Really enjoyed our lunch and all the staff were so helpful, but Callum in particular was so attentive. Definitely will be back!
Love the Griffin! It's our local and we go there regularly. Atmosphere and staff are fab. Amazing salt beef burger which tasted homemade however the gammon was tough and undercooked. We also had a very small portion of sharing nachos which wasn't worth the £8+ price tag. Our server Curtis sorted this out very quickly with a smile which was great. Thank you!
We love going to the Griffin, it's very welcoming and the food is really tasty thanks Chef Dan!. We find the food and drink prices reasonable, with a wide variety of beers, ciders and gins etc on offer. The staff are really friendly and always chat with us, Curtis and Callum behind the bar are lovely. The Sunday night quiz run by Rose is great fun and is one of the only ones we found that starts at 7.30 and ends at 9 - most go on too late. It's a dog friendly place and has increased it's outside seating area recently which has been great over summer.
Haven't been for ages but absolutely loved it. Lunch menu good - toasted salt beef and Moneyrey Jack really tasty. Ambience good though a little quiet but it was a Monday. Service on point too. Will definitely not leave it as long next time!
Great venue. We ordered to table via app which you can QR scan to take you straight to play store / app store to get app similar to wetherspoons app. Track and trace form and app easy to fill in / download, QR codes everywhere to speed things up . Redirect we scanned from table also has table number We managed to eat by just turning up and they were happy for us to arrange tables after rocking up. In via entrance on main road accessible via wheelchairs toilets were clean and accessed to right of the main bar as you walk in entrance. Prices for drinks a bit deer but food was great and service very good and polite! Parking for about 20ish cars. Looks great inside !
First time in this lovely old pub. Popped in for a drink with a large selection of real ales and then ordered the ham chicken pie. Very good value and excellent atmosphere. Recommended.
Called by on Tuesday for a spot of lunch and very happy. Fish and Chips were good along with the guest ale. Staff very friendly and pub light and airy. Decent sized car park and clean toilets. What's more to need?
Your pub is becoming a fav half way point for our weekend dog walks! Popped in Sat Lunchtime and had our usual welcome, doggie water etc, however special mention to the two ladies behind the bar/serving/clearing tables- cheery, fab atmosphere and our pies were out of this world!! Cheers
