Saturday lunch with friends, so a different experience to the usual couple/family meal. Disappointed! A grubby feel to the place. Food was OK but my minute steak was more fat that steak. Bumped the score up from 2 to 3 as the desserts were good. I wouldn't return as the place was grubby and lacked any sort of atmosphere...
Had my daughter baby shower in the function room on 5th March and had to write my review, first I would like to thank the very friendly staff that could not do enough for us. The function room was set out just as we wanted. The food was just outstanding and very plentiful, so on that note a big thank you to your chef or chefs. I would highly recommended this venue 5*
The food was OK, supposed to be a Christmas menu advertised on their website, but no sign of that on the day. I had the turkey, not sure how they got Brussels sprouts cooked but still as hard as bullets. Sticky Toffee pudding not available, so disappointing as that was what I was really looking forward to. Cheese board was better than many I have had.
Nice pub for food. Added bonus of having on the six nations matches on a big screen. Friendly staff. 5 'sFood: 5/5
Mark was our waiter today. He was attentive. Informed us how long our food would take and was prompt with drinks and service. Lovely meal and a very fair price. I will return soon Parking: Plenty of space if you can’t park in the main car park there seems to be plenty of parking available around the back of the building
Accessible and in a great location with ample parking. Nicely decorated inside, staff are always polite and helpful and there is a good range of food and drink. Able to televise sporting events and there is always a nice, friendly atmosphere. Long may that continue Food: 3/5
Such a disappointing experience. We came a while back and the Sunday lunch was outstanding.!! Clearly a different chef now. It was awful from start to finish. Table was not laid properly to start with., 1 fork on a table of 4. Starters where Hurrendous, the combination of the ingredients just did not combine well together. The food was cold, the Yorkshire puds where black!! we sent them back! The food was tasteless, a Spoonful of Cabbage, 1 carrot, 3 Roasties, and a burnt Yorkshire, ohh and let's not forget the genorous dripping of gravy. There was no colour to plate at all, the veg was so overcooked and soggy that the colour had actually gone.! The roast potatoes where vile, Iceland frozen ones would of been better. So overpriced for what you get, the quality of the food for the price is a joke to bo honest. The toilets looked like they hadn't been cleaned in months, spider webbs in every corner accompanied by several spiders. Handryer not working and no supply of paper towels to dry hands either. The place felt grubby and dirty. This place seems to have dramatically gone down hill since our last visit. Absolutely awful food!!!! Avoid at all costs!!
This was a local of mine many years ago. I remember the lounge having an impressive, plush decor. Not now, everything is painted grey and looks tired. The bar definitely needs freshning up, but I guess those were different times.Food: 3/5
Always excellent customer service especially from Mark! Great food, there's always something a bit different on the menu from the samey pub grub you get in most places...
6 of us went on a Sunday lunchtime and enjoyed the experience. Above average quality food with pub classics not Sundays and specials such as pan fried Sea bass with haddock & cockle chowder. BOGOF on some not all dishes Monday & Tuesday nights. Sunday lunch was very good. Busy on Sunday lunchtimes so book! Service was efficient even though they were busy. Large interior with pub style bar and separate lounge/eating area. Nicely decorated and a pleasant place to be. Good, beer wine and gin selection, some cocktails.
