Right! Stayed overnight on a trip down to Alton Towers, just the one night but what a night it was! Firstly, staff are superb - they’re not trying too hard or too little, they’re just being themselves and it was absolutely lovely. Cannot commend them highly enough. Food and Drink was absolutely sublime, had a Starter and a main course tea, Tomato Soup to start which was bloody brilliant and a massive plate of Haddock, Chips and Peas - I didn’t finish it because there was so much! Absolutely fantastic. Drink was plentiful, a dartboard and pool table for amenities too, as well as TVs showing football so always a plus. The rooms were very basic - but had everything you needed. Bed was very comfortable, rooms were slightly cold but hey it’s October in Scotland so what can you do? Only downside was a lack of any meaningful hot water, lukewarm at best, and the bathroom was tiny. All in all however - highly recommend the stay, if you’re travelling from Scotland to down south or vice versa, please consider a stay in the Gretna Inn! Or even if you’re staying in the town itself.
Just had lunch on our way west. The staff were so friendly , the food tasted amazing, and was served very quickly. They are also very dog friendly!! I can’t fault them, what a fab place to take a break from your journey. Will definitely be returning .Service: 5/5
What a lovely friendly pub. We stayed 4 nights for our wedding . Ian and his staff couldn't have been more friendly and helpful, the food was lovely and very good value, the accommodation was great and the included breakfast was the best. Definitely recommend staying here.Rooms: 5/5
It was ok, handy location. We had the steak pie which was nice, but not any different to any other steak pie, considering a few comments have said it's wonderful, staff were friendly etc, prices were reasonable. We would return.Service: 4/5

Fantastic local pub with great atmosphere, great food, pool table and jukebox. We had a good time after our wedding and were welcomed by the locals and made to feel at home.Service: 4/5

I’m not gonna lie at first glance the inn doesn’t look like much.But that doubt all fades as soon as you walk in and meet the staff.The are brilliant ,the food is so much superior than down the road Smiths tbh I wish I’d booked a room here instead.Rooms: 3/5
Went here for dinner the place is very outdated and run down tbh the toilets are like something from trainspotting a lick of paint wouldn't go a miss, as for food the standards were quite poor tbh maybe increase price and quality, the prawn cocktail was just some prawns with a dollop of sauce on it, the menu was very limited and the stuff did want didn't have any left, I feel this place needs a complete refresh and new menu shame really as decent location but definitely room for improvements.
