Great shop! The staff are always friendly and know their stuff - also as another customer mentioned there doesn't seem to be any pressure to "drink up and leave" in their coffee shop area! They are also very helpful and accommodating to people with mobility issues. :)

THE GREEN SHOP From a customers’ prospective. A shopping trip to The Green Shop at South road, in Midsomer Norton is a pleasant experience; no hassle, rush or bumping trolleys; instead, a friendly, relaxed and peaceful welcome. The staff are knowledgeable and attentive. Pam and her partner Clive, along with her two sons, make this a truly family affair. The range of products is large and varied, from dried fruits, seeds, nuts, various grains and cereals, flours, sauces, squashes, biscuits and chocolate to name just a few. There is also a range of chilled foods including milk, yogurts, cheese and ice cream. Babies are also catered for with a range of organic toiletries and nappies. Our four legged friends are not forgotten with a range of wet and dry foods for cats and dogs. The shelves are always fully stocked and Pam is prepared to order in items not currently in stock, giving a 10% discount on large orders. A big percentage of the goods stocked are organic, giving customers the option of eating foods not sprayed by chemicals. For the convenience of her customers, Pam provides a refill service for ecover products; an environmentally friendly range of cleaning and laundry items. This ties in with the ethical thinking that is very important to the owners. Packaging is recycled and energy conserved by switching off machines not in use. Every effort is made to minimise the shops’ impact on the environment. On the health side of things, a varied range of shampoos, conditioners and the like are available. The Bach Flower range of remedies, along with essential oils, homeopathic remedies and a wide range of supplements fill the shelves. Pam purchased the business four years ago, having worked for the previous owner. This gave her the knowledge and expertise to make her new venture successful. She employs three part time staff who all contribute to the wealth of knowledge available to customers, in their relevant field of expertise. Clive, Pam’s partner, runs the gym “High Energy”. His expertise within the field of nutritional supplementation is of great benefit to the business. Customers will often return to the shop feeling much better after following the advice given. This feedback is very much appreciated by the staff, word of mouth is so important to a business. Changes have been made under Pam’s guidance, including an increase in the number of complimentary therapies offered and an expansion of the coffee shop. The treatments available include Reiki, Crystal therapy, Aromatherapy, Reflexology, Massage, Baby treatments and Homeopathy. The coffee shop is very busy; a meeting place for friends to chat. There is a lovely atmosphere and no pressure to drink up and go. A wide range of drinks are available, coffees, teas, fresh orange and a choice of smoothies, to name a few. To compliment these, delicious homemade cakes, too good to refuse. 2 Pam is proud of her 5 star hygiene rating awarded by the local council. Despite the economic climate, business is increasing; customers, both regular and casual filling their baskets. The Green Shop was started thirteen years ago, Pam and her family being the fourth owners. Under her leadership the business has grown and prospered, long may it stay that way. So what are you waiting for? Shop, have coffee and cakes and be assured of a warm welcome; free parking too!!!
