As Joey would say: "Carrot cake - good. Chocolate cake - good. Scones - good. What not to like" : A great place to grab a quick tea or coffee.
Such a lovely place to have afternoon tea. We ordered high tea and one cake which I cannot remember the name but it’s so tasty. We love it!! High tea come with two different flavor scone, more like plain one. And sandwich also good!!
When we arrived the place was reasonably empty. We asked if they had a table for two and announced we wanted drinks, tea/coffee as it was 3:30pm. We were told we could only come in if we were eating. Staff were rude, and we were told to leave as it was their business hours. Recommend going across the road instead.
Such a lovely place! We visited in 2018 and ordered a set of Afternoon Tea probably the High Tea set. Can be crowded in here, but we got a nice table with wonderful service from the staff.
Historic place to grab an excellent coffee. Not cheap, but the Java i had was very good. The staff were friendly and helpful. I would have dropped a full five stars but for the pricing.
Good coffee place. The problem is that this place is always crowded as a result. I wish it was less crowded
Lovely location and setting; tea was way too strong with no option for extra hot water
Overpriced and rude staff. We were brought the bill and asked to leave before we were even finished with our tea cause they wanted to make space for new customers. If this is the oldest coffee house in England , it's probably time to close it!
Food is great, tea is great, cakes are delicious. It is in the expensive side for a cafe, but you get what you pay for. Expect to spend around £10-20 per person, but it will feel like money well spent.
