The food is absolutely delicious here! You can mix and match different dishes together. we tried the mac&cheese, lasagne, lentil pie, veg, potatoes & everything was absolutely delicious. It is an extremely comforting eat! Not to mention the price is so affordable! For under £10 you get a great sized meal! Also the service was 10/10, the man working there was lovely, answered our questions & filled our boxes to the brim. Will definitely be going back!
There are so many delicious vegetarian and vegan options at a very reasonable price! We spent less than £10 per person and we still had food leftover to take home. If you are visiting Portobello Road and taking in the market, this is a wonderful option for lunch and not a typical spot for lunch. There is a small bar area available to eat-in but would be easy for a quick take-away. The ingredients in the different dishes was fresh and hot and beautiful to the eye. There were so many delicious choices that the lovely lady working there was incredibly helpful and made suggestions on what we should have. I would highly reccommend you stop in here for a fast and delicious meal.
Outstanding in every respect - excellent customer service & utterly delicious food. My mum was a good cook & said that the really good ones can take a vegetable & turn it into something special - the carrots, greens & mushrooms were the best I've ever eaten & complemented the macaroni cheese perfectly. I only wish I'd had room for cake so will leave that delight for next time.
Lots of options for food and it was very tasty. Although beware the middle aged lady who serves. There were no prices of the drinks in the fridge when I went in. She started discussion drink options and offered me a "freshly squeezed orange juice". It sounded lovely as the weather was hot and I was very thirsty. She then pointed to an orange drink in the fridge and said it was that one labelled. I was confused as I was sure she said it was "freshly squeezed", expecting her to squeeze it or have done it herself. Anyway, I gave her the benefit of the doubt and placed it on the counter to purchase with my food. London isn't cheap at the best of times but when you go to a vegan store in west London with fresh food, you expect it not to be cheap. I was a little shocked at the price but sat down and proceeded to eat. I checked my receipt to see what the prices were broken down and the tiniest bottle of orange juice that I have ever purchased was near £10!!!!! £10 for a miniature bottle of orange juice, that wasn't freshly squeezed at all. I took it back to the counter and explained that I wasn't going to pay that for what I received and she allowed me to swap it for something else I think I got flapjack- which was nice, but then told me she wasn't going to give me the difference in return because I paid on card. What the hell is going on here? It's safe to say I feel conned by this store. I can recommend the food and baking, but just beware of hidden charges and the sheer rudeness and poor customer service you may receive. Dietary restrictions: Dairy & gluten free
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Portobello Health Foods The Grain Shop, and I was blown away by the quality of the food and the friendly service. The staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful, and the food choices were diverse and flavorful. I especially enjoyed the buffet-style setup, which allowed me to try a variety of dishes. They had a small dining area and since the place wasn’t massive, we were happy to have the option to eat in. The food was also very reasonably priced, especially considering the high quality and freshness of the ingredients. As a vegan, I was thrilled to find so many delicious options that were clearly labeled and prepared with care. Also, 90% of the food options were vegan. The non-vegan options are clearly labelled. Overall, I highly recommend Portobello Health Foods to anyone in the area looking for a tasty, healthy, and affordable meal. It's great to see a vegan/vegetarian restaurant thriving in Portobello, and I'll definitely be back to try more of their delicious offerings.
Food The food taste good and clean. Wide range of food available, rice, tofu, spinach, potatoes, noodles, dahl/Lentils pastries. These examples are only what I remember. There are 4 box sizes, small, medium, large and family size . Service Customer service is excellent. I feel welcomed and valued and efforts are made to remember customers, which keeps us coming back. Atmosphere When I have been there the atmosphere is quiet, even when other customers are present. There is seating which involves an additional price 60pence. Overall I will and have returned for a nutritionist meal with friendly and excellent service. Thanks.
I've been coming here for years an the food is SO tasty and wholesome. It feels like someone who cares about you has made it. So so so good. I wish I could recreate the food, since I have moved to Scotland and have to wait to visit London to have it again!Food: 5/5
