We were staying in Hartlepool for a nice weekend away and visited the golden lion today for Sunday lunch, absolutely beautiful food, myself and my husband went for the topside of beef and it was cooked to perfection fresh vegetables and mint sauce, then we decided to have a dessert, blueberry and white chocolate cake and custard, out of this world, will certainly be back again, food was amazing the staff were amazing we highly recommend this place and it wasn't expensive either

Fabulous food so tasty everything homemade bloody amazing.Great staff .
Partners burger, lovely! I got the beef casserole, which was a large lump of suet crust, with few bits of stewing steak n couple of sliced mushrooms in gravy which disappeared into the suet, making it very dry! Drinks expensive also! Staff lovely!
Dog friendly dining area, very pleasant and efficient staff, even providing and refilling dog water bowls. Food excellent, with good selection and price. Only negative was that the room was a bit gloomy, and carpets need replacing Parking: Parking available in Aldi carpark.
Love that they have a dog friendly area inside and out. My dog loves that she gets a treat from staff. Food is good, smaller meals available. I went hungrey one Sunday and had a fabulous Sunday dinner! Take away available too
Our biggest suprise was how good the young staff were, very pleasant, efficient and professional. Very rare qualities these days! Food was great and drinks good, Parking: Saturday lunch time yet still spaces available even though the Supermarket next door was very busy Wheelchair accessibility: Very good access which could only be improved by installing automatic opening doors.
Nice menu, good selection of food. Nice local artwork on the walls. We visit here most of the time when we come to Hartlepool.Food: 5/5
