A couple of days ago I bought a fish supper, thought it smelled stronger and fishier than it should but it tasted OK-ish. It wasn't proper fresh and the batter and chips were cold and soggy. The following day I came down with severe food poisoning that lasted hours. Another time with a different order, I found staples in the batter of the fish! Suffice to say, I won't ever be buying from the Gold Sea again.

The fish was incredibly dry and the chips were sour. I'm writing this the day after eating it and I just came back from copiously throwing up as your food gave me food poisoning. DO NOT GO TO THIS AWFUL PLACE
Been coming here for 9 years. You will not find a better fresher thicker! Piece of fish in Edinburgh. Stuart … the fryer here for 20 years cooks them to perfection. Regardless of how busy he is hes always smiling. The girls are amazing too. The food across the board is amazing but it’s fish and chips all day long for me from this place. My brother comes from glasgow to eat from this place.
Bit pricey, but the fish was cooked perfect, friendly service too. Would recommend!
The order was quick and hot, only the fries I ordered were missing
Ordered a doner wrap and chips. Chips were meant to be large but lucky if they were a medium portion and dry because of hardly any sauce. Wrap was well undercooked and very pale with hardly any sauce in it, plus it was at best lukewarm despite the fact we live about 300metres from the takeaway. Prices have shot up too with a shocking £2.50 delivery charge. Overall not great food and not value for money.
0 Stars Decided to ignore the fact the 90% of the reviews are awful and tried this place out last week had one of the driest fish I’ve ever ate and my chips where missing, partner told me not to bother ordering again and I said nahh they are local will try again , 1.5 hrs passed on a Thursday called up to see what’s going on because it was well overdue and got two rude people ,one of the phone and one in the background telling me I lied and only ordered 5 mins ago and my receipt is wrong I then continued to wait a further hour for them to close shop , not accept my call and not accept a call from uber eats directly …. Don’t do what I did! read the reviews they speak volumes will never be ordering again worst chippy food and service Ive yet to receive in Scotland
Worst PLACE Every Go Just a Pure Gamble Smoked Sausage Was JUST Served Out Of Its Packet Not Even Fried BONE DRY WOULD NEVER GO THEIR AGAIN WELL OVER PRICED NOT TO MENTION THE STAFF THEY THINK THEIR DOING YOU A FAVOUR..THE BLACK SEA
I'm actually rajin what a waste of money usually the goldsea is decent and lovely food order a few nights a week however tonight it was rotten I wasted £53 pizza was rotten really rotten soggy not cooked proper and far too much sauce the donner meat on it was cold hard stale not fresh at all even though I said pizza crispy with freshly chopped donner meat it was far from fresh! Usually there carbonana is one of the best tonight it was inedible and no flavour at all pasta was still too hard too that bad I sent it back! They forgot my spring rolls even though they phoned me like 3 times about my spring rolls had to get them sent out after I phoned. The scampi was soggy and not great salad was poor chicken pakoras where small and I now have the most worst headache since eating from here and no great aw and too top it all when my spring rolls finally arrived they where soggy and unbelievably stuck to the paper so completely all ripped when trying to separate from the paper if I diddnt have a terrible headache I'd be phoning back AGAIN to complain dunno what the actual cause the goldsea on like a Tuesday or Wednesday is sort your staff out they are getting you a bad name foods rotten man
