A unique experience to be in such a theater! It is completely different from all the theater buildings you have seen so far. It is open in the center and the seats are all around wood, you can get cushions to sit more comfortably at extra cost. The plays that are played are of course all of Shakespeare. I highly recommend it. We had a great time even though it was a little cold.
We went on a short guided tour but unfortunately didn't have time to watch a play. The experience would have probably been better if we had. The tour was fun and informative, and I think worth it, otherwise you won't be able to see the inside of the theater. The gift shop is also worth a browse. Found these miniature books and just had to have them!
The guided tour was very informative and engaging. The tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and the staff was very friendly. The tour takes about an hour. My 5 yr old and 2 yr old stayed engaged and enjoyed seeing the old theatre. There was also a sword fighting demonstration we attended. The knowledge and skills displayed were incredible. Highly recommend.
Great experience! Definitely worth going It is an open air theatre so make sure wrap up warm in the winter. The yard tickets cost only 5 pound but you had to stand up during the entire show, not recommended for tourists who have done a lot walking ‍ They also offer theatre workshops for children, don’t miss it!
Been here multiple times and always had a blast. If you want to go on a guide tour, please book ahead. Try to book to see something in the smaller, more intimate indoor theatre or watch something in the Globe. Was fortunate enough to see The Tempest here last time I was here.
Amazing place, has gift shop and toilet facilities on site. Guided tour was excellent and lasted about 60min. Easily accessible from the Thames riverside. Foot Bridge nearby giving access to and from the North side of the Thames, very close to St Pauls. The surrounding area is also nice to stroll along the banks of the Thames. Plenty of other places to see nearby.
Get a £5 pound standing ticket at least. Really amazing experience for so little. Super cool to watch the crowd and be so close to the actors. We did the guided tour as well which was awesome as well.
Great experience and lovely recreation of a major historical location. Dress for the outdoor weather and use a cushion or two! if you are in the seats and you’ll have a great time. Many seats have partially obscured views, so sit facing the stage for best results, but it’s still a great place to see a show no matter where you sit.
Went to the Henry VIII play on 6 October 2022. It's a modern take on the Shakespeare play. Not recommended for young children as play had sexual overtones. However they do tours during daytime so you can explore the replica of the Globe. I would go again to another play as it has a cool atmosphere.
I really enjoyed my tour of the theatre here! It was amazing seeing this famous landmark in the flesh, and our tour guide, Vicky, was very friendly and gave us a lot of background into the theatre. Would very much recommend doing a guided tour especially if you're a Shakespeare fan!
