The glasshouse cafe is located close to the Glasshouse at RHS Wisley. They have lovely outdoor seating overlooking the sea of tulips and cherry blossoms. Lovely staff. Canteeen style self serve with nice sandwiches, cakes and refreshments
We we here for a cake and hot drink whilst walking around the glow event. They had a lovely range of cakes and hot drinks. The service was pretty quick despite being busy.Food: 5/5
Drinks are overpriced but worse of all, the Toilets are a desperate state! Do not use the Toilets.
Pros: loads of seating in a scenic location. Cons: Bring your bank manager with you as its expensive! >£6 for a sausage roll. The staff could do with some enthusiasm to create a welcoming environment. Poor management of people, customers and overall a poor experience. Plenty of room for improvement to meet the RHS standards.
Much less busy place in the heart of Wisley.Food: 5/5
Very overpriced mediocre food. £6.50 for a sausage roll that tasted of fish!?!?! Will continue taking our own food in future. Thought we'd try eating there but never again. Couldn't find ingredient lists either on the food items made on site. Nothing online either. Cleanliness was awful. Looked like it hadn't been swept or cleaned for days. Not what you'd expect really. The member of staff who served us wasn't friendly which just topped the whole unpleasant experience off. Very disappointing but lesson learnt. Take your own!
Visited during half term - so busy, probably not enough staff to deal with the many customers visiting due to the Grand Brick Safari. Would be helpful to know what was on offer before you reach the counter especially at such a busy time. Filter coffee was good and strong. Sandwiches ready made which I understand is a must but what happens if your grandchildren don't have butter /spread on their sandwiches - there didn't seem to be an alternative. Will try again next visit hopefully a better experience
A small selection of snacks at reasonably prices with plenty of seating outdoor and indoors. There are several outdoor large parasols, if the weather gets too hot. Don't sit outside if you don't like birds around you though, as occasionally mallards and woodpigeons will wander amongst the tables. No problems with me, as I like all wildlife including visits by the robin, pied wagtail and nuthatch!
The food was good, if rather expensive. Although there were four people running two tills and three coffee machines, it took a long time to be served. There was no sense of urgency to get the queue down. The staff energy levels seemed to be low, perhaps because we visited just before closing time. This is definitely a problem which needs to be addressed in future.
The worst run cafe in England? Wisley must be able to do better than this. Queues out the door as the only way to pay is at the tea/coffee service point which takes forever. Choice poor, prices reflect a premium venue which this cafe is clearly not. Oh and no allergen info - it’s 2020, come on.
