Visited for Sunday roast dinner, the food was delicious and good portions. We went for the mix roast for two.nWe were served by Victoria who was very attentive, friendly and professional.nOverall highly recommended.
28/09/2025 We sat in the bar area because we had a dog with us. We prebooked for 8 including 2 children. The table was ready on our arrival. The bar staff were very polite. The pub was pretty full so we had a reasonable wait for our food but it was worth it. Most of the party ordered the Sunday roast. The food was delicious and good value. The waiting staff were as good as the bar staff. Will definitely call again.nnI made a mistake when submitting this review the first time, I pressed one star instead of 5nnApologies for my mistake, it is the first time I have sent in a review, now changed to 5nnThankyou for a lovely family lunch !!
Wonderful atmosphere and absolutely amazing staff. The food was superb and cooked to perfection. My only negative is that there was no alcohol free beer on tap first World problems though eh! but I had bottled anyway which was very nice. Thoroughly recommend the George and Dragon, we'll definately be back. Thankyou to all the staff, you guys were amazing. Gary & Julia
Perfect Sunday roast. Food tasted amazing, kids portion were also a good size. Their trio meat option was perfect. Only reason for dropping a star was gravy was quite watery.nnFree Parking available but we didn't know so parked in nearby council office car park.nnBeautiful pub nestled in the high street. Lovely inside but the outside needs a little bit of work.nnOverall I would recommend for a great place to eat with the family.
A solid gastro pub, the George was perfect for catching up with a colleague and her new baby. Staff were super friendly and helpful, food and drinks options were spot on and at an excellent price point. Note there is parking available around the back.
