Wow, what a lovely location with its own stream flowing through the garden. The building is immaculate. Great service from the staff. Haven't eaten there yet but I hear it's great, and the owners other place is brill so expect good things. I could spend all day there.
Myself and family members enjoyed a fantastic meal yesterday at the Fox. The service is extremely friendly and helpful. And the food was cooked to perfection. We will definitely be coming again. The location is also absolutely beautiful. Lovely to see banks of snowdrops.Service: 5/5
Great atmosphere...car park definitely needs a light for safety at night....you can't even see the ground where you are walking, be careful! Food was 6/10. I had the daily pie ... too much crust and way too little filling. They served with chips but no mash were available as an option. My husband had fish and chips.. now that was spot on. Our reservation was at 7. By 8p they had run out of a daily special dessert and a daily special main. We were disappointed about the dessert! Staff was very attentive and pleasant.
We stayed on 22 and 23 Nov 2022 in rooms Sheringwood and Burton I think. I wish I could rate this place better. Everything was excellent. The rooms were warm, clean, beds comfortable. Attention to detail was immaculate. The management had great ownership. The food at the bar was excellent. 3 examples: 1. We enjoyed the fish and chips as well as the grilled hake with lentils. This is saying a lot as we are ethnic Chinese from Singapore and we are particular about our fish. 2. We had a "steak and ale" pie on pie-night. The next morning, at breakfast we overheard an elderly English couple remarking that it was the nicest pie they've ever had. 3. Finally their English breakfast is the nicer ones we had during the trip. But their kindness and accommodation came across. We booked the accommodation on a website and could not register our 3 year old son who was travelling with us. They allowed him to have cornflakes and made him an omelette and declined when we wanted to pay for his omelette. It was a kind gesture. We didn't mean to take advantage of it, but it made the stay extremely pleasant.
This was a lovely experience! We didn't know what to expect but it's a great place that offers a good room for a great price. It has a lovely outside beer garden en a small but good food menu and pretty decent wine selection for a pub which was delicious! The bar has a very local vibe and the girls behind the bar were very great and lovely to chat to. We'll definitely come back here again when visiting the Cotswolds!
Remarkable experience!! The most friendly staff I have ever met in hospitality industry. Proper home environment. It was like a dream. Highly recommend. We will be back soon!
The lack of any interest by the woman who served us that our beer tasted sour ensured that I will not return. She did at least offer to pull another beer for us, which we accepted. However some interest in the bad pints would have been so much better.Service: 1/5
Had our first lunch in our future local and were disappointed with the fish and chips. The batter was stodgy and almost burnt - the chips were dark brown suggesting high sugar content spuds or using old oil. Didn't want to raise the issue with the charming and efficient staff particularly as the pies and belly pork were okay. We will be back - hopefully just a blip!
Had lunch here was was super tasty. Lovely atmosphere and very welcoming with dogs. Nice local beers as wellService: 5/5
