Avoid at all costs. Abandon all hope ye who enter. I love Joules pubs and have always been treated extremely well by them in the past but this has to be categorically the worst treatment I have ever received from a pub in my entire life. The waiting staff were delightful at first but the proprietor is a sluice of paternalistic bile. My dog is nervous and so we usually take him out of the way, but we have never had an issue with him in any situation other than unwanted barking if he gets scared. He growled and at the proprietor who decided it was appropriate to give an entirely disproportionate response in the form of a lecture that seemed to serve as a barely concealed threat. I came to enjoy a half of beer, not to be lectured about canine behaviour management for growling. We were made to feel very unwelcome to the point we cancelled our food and left. Any attempt at discussion or explanation to reach some kind of common understanding to put things back on the right foot was met with complete opprobrium and perhaps even mockery. Completely disgusted and will never set foot there again. A tarnish on an otherwise unblemished record for the Joules brand.

Not dog friendly. Extremely unfriendly and impolite landlord. May claim to allow dogs in some areas but they do not appear to understand dogs and were actively unpleasant to me and my wife about our dog, who was under close control, on a lead, in the garden. I highly recommend that you avoid this pub, which is not representative of the high standard of Joules Brewery.

Excellent food in a pleasant country pub. I went there as part of a large booking and the service was efficient, while at the same time the staff still managed to be warm and friendly. Highly recommended.

Excellent pub with great food and very friendly staff. Great events on time to time also like the beer festival. Joules beers are lovely
