Didn't eat there. Service at the bar was excellent. Atmosphere also excellent.......local people actually spoke to us the strangers and made us welcome.
My partner and I call in regularly at a weekend after walking in the locality. The ambiance is wonderful. Invariably there is a friendly greeting from customers and from behind the bar. The Red Lion is a truly 'local' pub serving the village of Cheswardine. It is the kind of place where you will get drawn into the conversation whether you're a regular or just visiting.... The quintessential English pub!
What a cracking visit to the Red Lion pub! We were on a walk during a weekend break to North Shropshire when we got chatting to a village resident who recommended the Red Lion. We received an incredibly warm welcome from the local community and enjoyed the well-kept, tasty ales. If we didn't have a few more miles to walk we would have been very tempted to stay longer! Thank you.
Stopped off at this place while cycling and was welcomed with open arms ! Wow. What a place, landlord was welcoming offering me free pork pies, great feel to the pub, fire, great beers, well priced pint. Great locals as well wanting to talk to you ! Probably due to the quintessential British feel to the pub, yeah can't speak highly enough about this place. We will be back. Probably today ......
