Went today for lunch and I'm delighted I did .Have been several times before but only for bar food and drinks. Its a beautiful quaint pub with rooms leading off the bar and also a restaurant. Sat in the bar area with a wonderful open fire. I had the soup of the day and also the game pie..Both were fabulous..The service is excellent with a team that are eager to please. Its a long time since I have enjoyed such good hearty cooking. Would highly recommend this gem ..But don't spoil it for the locals.

It was very busy the day we visited, as it was a sunny Bank Holiday. The staff were very pleasant even though run off their feet, and the food was enjoyable, although the menu was limited.

Closed the door in my wife and I’s face at four minutes to six on a Sunday afternoon. We only wanted a pint and allegedly open till 10pm. Please explain.

Limited drink options, the chips were very underwhelming. Shame, as a lovely setting.
