useless!!!! Constantly ringing daily at 08:00 and when you finally get through you’re told all appointments are gone. This is usually within 15 minutes, what a joke, I don’t even want to see the doctor just a phone call appointment for medication that’s not on repeat.
Lovely staff and doctors but they need a new system in place rang bang on at 8 this morning to be told it was still closed so hung up and rang straight back line busy 96 attempts later I get through to be told no appointments surely if the surgery opens up at 8 you should be able to ring bang on 8 like I did not their fault people need to see a doctor i understand that but how frustrating after all that you get told no appointments avaliable
Staff are always helpful and accommodating, swift action from the Doctor there saved my life. They have gone the extra mile through a difficult period to make sure i'm safe. Thank you
After having what can only politely be called "issues" with my previous GP, this surgery has been a breath of fresh air. The receptionists I spoke to were actually helpful, listened, and chased my old practice for information when they didn't supply it. My old surgery the receptionists would act like they were doctors and were so rude and confrontational. I spoke to Dr Woods technically aberaman surgery who was amazing. She listened to the issues I've had and agreed what tests were needed. My previous surgery I never got to speak to a GP and dismissed any issues I had. Wish this surgery was used as the standard for all of South Wales as quite a few GPs could learn a lot from them.
Rubbish staff. Make you feel very unwelcome and give you a massive run around. Tell you the pre-booking tomorrow, only to tell you to phone back again the next day. So the cycle continues. I haven't been able to get an appointment for near enough over a year because of the receptionist. Put short don't bother
We as a family have been with the Town Clinic for many years, at Aberaman and Aberdare. As far as we are concerned the doctors, nurses and staff are wonderful. They will always find time for you, and are very easy to talk to. They give you 100% of their time.
One doctor in particular is shockingly arrogant and inflammatory. Actually told me I have an opiate addiction because I am on 30mg of codeinevery small dose pd for chronic pain conditions 20+ years although he had met me only once and I have been prescribed much stronger opiods than codeine previously, which I actually discontinued as I have very low tolerance for that class of med. Apparently there is a drug problem in the area which I was not aware of, not being from the area or country for that matter. So called medical professionals making out they know me, my business, my med history in 3 minutes is not acceptable. I also believe he presented this way as I am visably not white something I picked up on immediately. Backward mentally. Stay far.
The waiting time is bloody ridiculous. And it’s not just me that’s annoyed and noticed this. When I’ve been waiting I’ve seen other people waiting and getting just as annoyed as me. It’s my 3rd time being in this doctors surgery and the waiting time each time I’ve been, has been up to an hour each time before the appointment. Ridiculous, Each time I’ve been late for work or had to leave early for work for no reason. You hear the doctors laughing between seeing their next appointment, chatting for a couple minutes then calling the person that’s been waiting 40 minutes in. Seeing people who have come in after me going in before me is not nice at all, I get that there was different doctors and different appointments lists but come on.. Sort this out!
First as a temporary resident and now as a permament patient, I have asked for help several times over the last few months. This surgery is so friendly and helpful. I can't speak highly enough of them. Thank you to everyone there.
Without a doubt the best practice in Aberdare. The doctors are spot on, or at least the three female doctors are that I've seen. Parking can be an issue for some at times. I would highly recommend this practice.
