Such a wonderful day out lots for the children to explore!! You definitely need a good few hours to get around and see everything!! There could be more signs to indicate small tunnels or 1 way systems to help prevent traffic, we went during the school holidays and it was quite busy but we still had lots of fun !!Visited onWeekdayWait timeUp to 10 minReservation recommendedYes
The Forbidden Corner is a fantastic experience with a lot to explore. My group had two kids and 6 adults, and we spent around 6 hours exploring the gardens. There is so much to find and there is exciting hidden passages. My favourite was the underground rat bar!Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedYes
Lovely day out. Lots of adventures for small kids and big kids alike. Mazes indoor and outdoor exciting things to see and do along the way through a magical and mythical adventure. Loved it as did the little one. Has a cafe food outlet on site ample parking toilets and gift shop. The views of the area are stunning from certain vantage points. Don't want to give too much away with the photos so it's a suprise for you all.
I cannot recommend this place enough. Had an absolutely brilliant day out here with the family. My 6 and 3 year old loved it as did the adults. What a place this is. If you’re thinking about visiting just do it because you won’t regret it. Amazing!!!!!
Absolutely bonkers place. Wear sturdy shoes & prepare to get wet spare clothes in the car is a good idea Eat before you go in, no picnics allowed. If you're claustrophobic, heavily overweight or have mobility issues, this isn't the day out for you. Lots of very narrow passages, steep steps, dark spaces.
A magical place to bring the family. This labyrinth style attraction will be fun for all ages. The twists, turns, landscape, water features yes, you will get wet! are all spectacular. You'll laugh and be amazed at what beholds you. The famous burping mouth upon entering or the tunnels underground that bring you out in random areas. Look out for the Charlie & The Chocolate Factory style tunnel that gets smaller as you go down, or bigger as you go through depending on which way you walk through! See if you can find the mice and watch the mouse show as it happens, you'll be in for a shock as it finishes! The homemade ice cream is good if you can find the café near the play area. You'll certainly have fun!
What a find this was. We were staying in Catterick and went there for a day out with the children. It's a warren of paths and nooks and crannies with so much excitement for the kids they loved it. It's a mystical garden with all sorts of statues and surprises and expect to get wet!! There's a cafe on site, which was really reasonably priced and the food was good quality. On the way out you'll get pulled into the gift shop so expect to be buying the kids a souvenir. Outside next to the attraction is a picnic area that's free to enter. Great value and well recommended.
2022 was the first time we've been to The Forbidden Corner, and we were not disappointed! It was an extremely hot day so if going in the height of summer, come prepared! We brought sandwiches, snacks, and some drinks for lunch, but you can certainly buy some from there. Parking was at a premium, we had to park in a field and walk into the park itself. Not a big deal, but if you have mobility issues, it might be a problem. That being said, there are loads of walking and exploring to be done. It's a lot of fun going from one place to another, trying to figure out how to get back to the entrance, and so on. There are some water 'traps' that you try to get through without getting wet, but since it was so hot the day we went, it was a welcome reprieve from the heat! It was a ton of fun, especially when you realize the exit you were looking for is a place you'd walked past several times! The views of the Dales are spectacular, it made me appreciate the beauty of the area! You will not be disappointed, except for the heat, The Forbidden Corner is worth the visit. It lives up to its slogan of 'The Strangest Place in the World' You'll see the name Armstrong throughout the Folly as it was built by the Armstrong Family. Interesting reading if you're up for that. Their gift shop is full of unique souvenirs and gifts, some of which came home with us! next time we're in the UK, we'll plan a visit to The Forbidden Corner again!
Fantastic experience for kids. Got lost in the maze and a couple other places but I think that’s partly the intention! Lots of oddities to keep the kids entertained, they particularly enjoyed the stepping stones. Some scary parts for younger children but in the whole a very unique day out!Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedYes
What an incredible place! We 40, 37 & 19 spent over 3hours here exploring every nook and cranny we could and still didn't find all the hidden letters! We will definitely be back, we need to dinsrhe last 4 letters. Can or recommend this place enough. Tickets were reasonably priced and the facilities within Forbidden Corner are fantastic.
