We enjoyed a fantastic meal to celebrate an 80th birthday on Mothering Sunday. The staff were friendly and looked after us well, including bringing out the cake. The decor is clean and upscale - I loved the interesting feature wall paper in the bar and the dining area. The toilets were like you'd expect in a hotel. The food was amazing, yes a little on the expensive side but for a special occasion well worth it. I had the duck starter that was delicate and delicious, followed by the burger and although bery full I also managed the chocolate brownie. Everything was superb! Everyone else went for roast dinner and plates were cleared. We moved into the bar area for coffee and cake as there were little children running about and a large group in the dining area. All in all lovely and we look forward to a return visit.

When you order a double of their premier Grey Goose vodka with lemonade (£12) You would expect a Gastro pub to serve this drink in a nice glass with plenty of ice and ask you if you would like a slice of lemon or lime. not even a straw! To top it off, I had to query the price on our 2 drinks. She had over charged me by £2. Not impressed!

Great food and service. $$ The Sunday roast chicken was remarkably moist and flavourful. The Ploughmans' - meat or cheese - were generous to the point of surplus. We did one of each to share. Unlike some Gastropubs, they don't seem to think they have to have everything from meat pies to the Sunday joint on the menu. Just a nice variety surprisingly well done. Good selection of ales and cider, and the usual measly spirits pour customary in the UK are priced so that a large one is a reasonable choice.

Nice cosy place to visit to after a long drive. Owned by the hotel opposite so very convenient and can put dinner on your room. Food of a good standard. I felt it was missing an open fire place and some sofas, and with that it'd be 5 stars.
