Great to see the brewery and taste some ales in the Taproom! The JUPA juicy pale ale is fantastic! From the Ashes in the covered courtyard served us a delicious Sunday roast. Kids portion was half price. Don't miss the smoked pork doughnuts to start. Highly recommend for a family meal and would definitely come back for drinks.
A very enjoyable Father’s Day lunch. Four of us shared the featherblade platter and we even had some spare steak to bring home! Enough steak for 4 definitely but only enough sides potato’s etc. for 2-3 I would say. Although the food took 45 mins+ to arrive it was worth the wait.
Attended their first Butchery Masterclass and it was fantastic. Doreen and Ellis walked us through the brewery taking time to answer our questions. Martin then walked us through the different cuts of meat and how the livestock was raised before enjoying a wonderful meal. A superb evening and I look forward to attending the pork and lamb events later this year.
Went specifically for the bbq as seen on Insta. Good quality meat, however the bbq was a bit undercooked which lost the flavour. I’d expected a lovely seasoned crust and a soft pulled middle from a top quality smokey Que. The only plus was the rub on the beef but again no heat through the surrounding fat to grasp all that flavour. Green salad thing was a bit rough and had too much vinegar. Green sauce was basic and lacklustre. Where’s my fresh chimmichurri or some mustard dip for my chicken. Basically no love put into it ! Slapped together and thrown out on a tray for a premium price. Consistency is key, I would not recommend @fromtheashesbbq, which is a shame, this has probably been top draw at some point. The Uninterested attitude kids at the bars brought the vibes down and not many people in, which could be a marker. The venue and set up are amazing, but after spending £130 on a 4 drinks and a bbq felt a bit swizzed. If you’re visiting from a far there’s better places to get Smokey bbq in East London. Saturday night for a good booze is probably the best part of the Five Points here. The beer is excellent and has been since the first days at the Pembury Tavern. Portishead and other decent tracks on the playlist were a plus. This should be 5 stars. It comes up a very generous 3 at best for now.
First of all to say I'm a big, long-term fan of Five Points and have sunk many a delicious pint of theirs over the years, but this was my first time at this particular venue. We were there on an autumnal Friday night and it was pretty quiet. Their courtyard I can imagine is an ideal spot in summer. Tonight though was chilly and we were in the Taproom. I desperately wanted it to be better than it was, which was unfortunately rather atmosphere-less. It was calling out for some lower lighting or something less stark. The other main issue was the staff looked like they'd rather be anywhere else and didn't give even the most basic of a welcome. Left us feeling like we'd probably not bother returning and would instead drink the excellent beer in a nicer spot next time.
As well as being a great local to drop-in for beer on a weekend; it’s also the perfect place for a stress-free, relaxed wedding reception. We were able to book the upstairs mezzanine and outdoor space, which was ideal as there were some younger guests. The beers are all very good but we were lucky enough to have a cask of Mexican Lager saved for the day- one to try if it’s brewed again. The general manager at the time Min arranged for our bunting to be put up, but the space itself needed very little else. We had our own reception playlist that we sent over via Spotify. From the Ashes provided the food and all our guests loved the burgers. The timing of the food was perfect. It’s not the obvious choice for a reception but I can’t imagine anywhere that would have been better.
We are locals and are so grateful for the friendly staff and lovely courtyard at 5 Points. There's so much space, it felt relaxed but still buzzy. Great beers on tap and a tasty menu. We met some friends on a recent Sunday and all really appreciated the kid friendly space. It's hard to find somewhere adults and kids can have fun together. We had four little ones with us who loved The Kids Table. The 5 Points staff were all extra friendly and patient with our kids. We really enjoyed the barbecue from the new smoker! Thank you so much for creating a space where families can enjoy a meal together. And other times we can also enjoy a meal there without the kids. This is a favourite local spot.
The new Sunday Roast is unreal. Head through the taproom, through the Brewery and into the courtyard where there’s outdoor/indoor seating available. It was pretty cold when I visited but the heaters did the trick. It is definitely a great spot all year round.
One of the best breweries in London. Their Pale Ale is the best I’ve had and only 4.4% so very crushable. Their space/atmosphere is unreal—it was a sunny day, so the patio and outdoor seating area was packed! Highly recommend!
Amazing brewery in East London! We’ve been loving the five points pale ale so had to go to the brewery to try all their beers. We got a flight, and really loved the pale ale, jupa juicy pale ale, and berry sour. The service was quick and friendly. The outside atmosphere is 10/10, located beside the viaducts with plenty of outdoor patios/seating. The place was packed but we managed to find a table in the middle of the action. There is a bbq spot on site serving tasty looking food too. Can’t wait to go back!!
