The Five Dials Inn

About

The Five Dials Inn is a buzzing pub serving freshly prepared seasonal food, local beers & ciders together with clean & comfortable accommodation.

Story

Following an extensive renovation The Five Dials Inn re-opened in November 2009. Our aim was to create a buzzing pub serving freshly prepared seasonal food, local beers & ciders together with clean & comfortable accommodation. We hope that we are on our way to achieving this but don’t take our word for it, come and see what you think!

We are situated at the foot of the Blackdown Hills within easy reach of the local market town of Ilminster, close to Taunton and transport links for A303, A358 & M5

We look forward to seeing you soon

Paul & Sarah

The Pub

Real Ale

Expect to find 3 real ales on the bar, full time residents include 'Otter Bitter' and 'Sharp's Doom Bar' as well as a guest. We are proud of our Cask Marque accreditation and take the quality of our beer seriously!

Wine

We offer a comprehensive selection of wines from around the world supplied by Regency Wines. Please click on the links at the top of the page for full lists.

Somerset Cider

We are spoilt for choice here with traditional local ciders from Perrys in Dowlish Wake and Burrow Hill (as well as their unique and famous Somerset Cider Brandy). We also stock Thatchers Gold and Dry Blackthorn.

The Food

Managed by Head Chef Kirsty Earnshaw, our kitchen produces fresh seasonal food with daily changing specials board. Emphasis is placed on keeping flavours simple and unpretentious with fresh fish daily from Brixham and meat, game and vegetables from local suppliers.

Food is served Tuesday - Sunday 12pm - 2pm & 6.30pm - 9pm (8.30pm on Sundays)

Accommodation

Highly recommended. We stayed for one night whilst we were visiting locally. The delightful room was well presented with a comfy bed and the luxury of a waterfall shower. Friends, with dogs, who also stayed were given a lovely spacious suite on the ground floor. Dinner and breakfast were superb and our host, Sarah, was friendly, welcoming and very well organised. We would definitely stay here again when we are next in the area.
Total delight. Friends booked us in en route home from a short break . Clean ,friendly ,happy place . Food was up there with 4 stars for our Sunday roast. Others in our party had mussels and pasta also up there with 4 stars. Ice cream, sorbet, apple pie and fig pudding followed .superb ending. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this great pub . Beer was crisp and cool
I've been going to this pub for many many years . Never disappoints. Whether its a beer , glass of wine , spirit's etc , the selection is considered and carefully selected by Paul and Sarah . Dining is also a delight in this friendly village pub . The level of cooking skills , and quality of local produce is a credit to all involved. Always leave happy and with a full belly .
Just a small lovely pub with a few rooms. Good food and a great hospitality! Prices are correct. Rooms are big, clean and bathrooms are new! Easy to park too! If you need to stay in the area, it is a great location! Keep it like that
Fantastic food and service for a large party on a Saturday night. Great food choice on the menus, fresh local produce good perfectly. Has a wide range for drinks in the bar too. We were all very happy and would highly recommend. Thanks for having us x
Shannon was the amazing waitress who looked after us, with an abundance of friendly and caring, patient, kind and helpful attentive service. 5 stars The steak cooked in garlic butter was so tender and bursting with flavor. 100% deliciousness. Vegetarian options: So much choice. Parking: Limited spaces, but enough for diners who arrive in one car Dietary restrictions: Amazing gluten free foods with a fryer especially for gluten free thrice cooked chips
The food was excellent and the staff were all lovely. I went with my sisters and brother, we all had different starters and main courses and we all said it is definately somewhere that we would book a meal again. Thank you for a great dining experience. Kid-friendliness: They cater to children as well as adults Parking: The car park gets full very quickly as this is a popular place to eat.
Visiting from Bristol and ate here last night and enjoyed the Shitake mushroom tagliatelle so much came back tonight! Ate again and had the chicken and ham pie which was recommended and it did not disappoint! Lovely pub.
Great little local pub with generous portions of home cooked food. Food was tasty and cooked perfectly. Staff very friendly and nothing too much trouble. Dog friendly too which we love
We came as a large group with several children as a Christmas celebration. We had to order our food ahead of time. I had the Feta, spinach, sweet potato & pine nut strudel. It was delicious, one of the best vegetarian options for Christmas dinner I've had. Vegetarian options: The vegetarian option was delicious
