Riverside Pub/Restaurant in St Dogmaels with Beer Terrace and Jetty offering views over the estuary. Families, Dogs, Muddy Boots all welcome.

Story

The Ferry Inn is a beautiful, historic and welcoming pub/restaurant in the picturesque village of St Dogmaels, Pembrokeshire.

The Ferry Inn has been a Public House since 1833, and grew up alongside the ferry service which linked Cardigan town with the village of St Dogmaels. The ferry service continued running into the 1920s. The beautiful location coupled with our contemporary decor and high quality food and drink make this the ideal place for a relaxing drink or meal.

There are balconies and large decked areas outside with a private jetty for those wishing to arrive by boat. Another public, all tide jetty and slipway are situated 100m from the pub. We are walker, cyclist and dog friendly, and situated at the start of the 186 mile Pembrokeshire Coast Path, one of the world's most impressive and diverse stretches of coastline. We are 1 mile from the dog friendly beach at Poppit Sands.

Indoors, the main restaurant area has large windows affording magnificent views of the river and seats 120 over two levels. Our cosy bar, with complimentary WiFi and large leather sofas showcases local art and serves great coffee, traditional bar snacks and homemade cakes, as well as a selection of local beers, selected wines and spirits.

Our menu reflects the diversity of local, seasonal produce including fine sea bass, salmon, sea trout, lobster and crab; mountain lamb, welsh black beef and pork from local farms. Our team of chefs pride themselves in producing flavoursome dishes which mix traditional fayre with contemporary influences. Our menus change to reflect the season, and specials are changed daily to ensure freshness and choice.

Open Everyday, All Day from 12PM.

The best food I've had in Wales! We went on a quiet Friday lunchtime so the owner was really attentive to us, we had a beautiful table that overlooked the river but the entire venue was gorgeous. I had the Glamorgan sausage which was absolutely incredible: delicious food and very generous portion sizes. You pay a bit more here but its well worth it.
Absolutely fantastic experience from start to finish. Food was fresh and tasty, atmosphere and view was impeccable. Service was fab and smiles all round from every staff member we interacted with. Recommend booking!!! Only nit pick is parking can be a little chaotic. Overall what a Gem!
We had such a lovely roast at the ferry inn. The staff were welcoming and chatty and the food was really, really delicious. Great vegetarian option and nothing was too much trouble. We would definitely return. We had a lovely walk on poppit sands before hand to work up an appetite - all in all a perfect start to our holiday. We had our pup with us and she was welcomed into the dinning area which we loved, the view of the river is stunning also Vegetarian options: Absolutely delicious with vegan option available also!
Sadly not a great experience for lunch, went with friends and as we all work within the hospitality industry and fully understand the pressures that come with it. Unfortunately there is no excuse for serving sub standard food but charging top price. My friends opted for the burgers, for £17 each I would have thought that fresh chips would come as standard, the chips served had been fried several times so only thing remaining was greasy hollow tubes. The coleslaw was clearly left out in the hot kitchen I can only assume and was inedible. We did express our disappointment and was given a discount on the final bill which was appreciated. Maybe the chef was having a bad day but when charging high end prices the food really needs to reflect this . Sadly today was a very big let down . Beautiful location and the staff member who served us was very polite .
Service was great, especially for such a big group of us. Food was amazing and great choices for vegetarians and vegans. Lovely unique place with great views and atmosphere. We'll be back soon!Food: 5/5
Very nice view from a excellent gastro-pub. The food is wicked and affordable. The team very professional. Would suggest you to book!
Stunning meal in a perfect location right on the river. Service was excellent and super friendly, recommending local places and genuinely was interested in what bought us to the area. Food was superb, my other half had the burger which was mega juicy and I had the sea bass which was cooked perfectly and super tasty!
Great food for adults, struggled with veggie kids who don't like burgers as only option. Food was good though took a while. It's avg price is £18 for a main meal, not loads of choice but was lovely & a big portion. Felt drinks were a little pricey. Service was really good - friendly & managed a big party well. Good family atmosphere. Dogs are in the restaurant in case you're allergic or don't like that. Vegetarian options: Need another option for kids only veggie burger available. Veggie sausages, pasta, pizza, quesilladas, etc would all be good.
Wonderful again. Lovely food and friendly staff/owners. A must visit whenever in the area.
We had delicious lunch in this amazing place We have been greeted by very polite host, asked for best view and definitely got it! The guys who serve us very friendly and polite. Always came to ask how is our food and had little chat with us The food as well was very nice and fresh. Left happy and full Definitely recommend!
