Great service. Lovely food. Great staff. Big thanks to Dave. You run a great pub
Had a lovely meal here before going to the social club, nice bar area, clean toilets and quiet eating area too. Staff were fabulous, I was working with a disabled individual, the staff were so caring and the clientele friendly, they really went over and above. Thank you, I can't recommend it enough.
Had a lovely meal here between Christmas and New Year. Roaring log fire and enough choice on the menu to warrant a decent ponder. I opted for Chilli and my husband had a burger with Bacon and cheese. The chips were proper home made and plentiful. Meal excellent. Needless to say we shall be returning.
A great pub in terms of beer, decor and layout but it is ALWAYS cold. The staff are always in fleeces - not a good sign. From late summer to our most recent visit over Christmas, and despite an open fire, it is just too cold to be comfortable. As a result, the red wine was also too cold. Not going back . TURN THE BLOODY HEATING UP OR LOSE EVEN MORE CUSTOMERS!
Called today, should have known an empty car park was not a good sign. In fact we were driving out when another car pulled in so decided to give it a go. Wish we hadn’t stayed. Only serving roasts which was what I wanted but if there is only 2 options beef or ham how can you get it so wrong. We were served what can only be described as a plate swimming in gravy with an undercooked Yorkshire pudding and anaemic roast potatoes. Had one mouthful to be asked is the food ok, give me a chance to try it properly. Ate what was edible paid and left.
Went here for lunch , service was OK, food was OK, ham egg and chips had egg shell in it, chips tasted like just been dumped in the fryer, scampi tasteless,it was dark inside no lights on, felt cold inside even though the fire was lit, need check your bill before paying as got charged for something we didn't have, but he did take it off! Tables sticky and waited ages for food, and looked through the door window to the kitchen the chef had a hoody on with his hood up and a chef jacket. That put me off
I don't know why the Manager there is in a customer based role as he seems to hate customers. Have been there 3 times now and today it was freezing cold without the heating turned on, so we sat in our coats eating the lunch time special £7.95 it arrived with 5 chips and cold peas. When we told the Manager he was rude and disagreeable he lost 6 new regular customers. We felt so sorry for the wonderful bar staff who have to work for such a grumpy old Scottish git.
The service was pretty bad from the start. Bar staff completely lost our order and didn’t think to ask us, so after about 20 minutes we had to ask. Food was mediocre at best, chips were hard and undercooked, burgers were dry, steak was overdone. Just poor. Shan’t be back here in the future.
Lovely home cooked food. Fresh vegetables on my roast dinner no frozen veg Generous portion of food and definitely value for money.
Nice pub and staff. Food was nice, but lasagne needed more meat, or less sauce.
