We booked a table at the Duke of Gloucester as a last minute situation and cannot express how happy that has made us. We booked a table for four and on arrival Adele seated us and then moved us to a better table even though we expressed we might bother the table next to us. Adele was chatty, friendly and couldn't be more help, making sure our every whim apart from a 32oz steak was catered for. The food was absolutely exceptional, ordering a 'small' fish and chips, two mixed grills and the seabass, wall demolished our food as it was all cooked to perfection and served with aplomb. We are absolutely going back again, as this level of service in a pub chain was just astonishing. Really happy, lovely clean tidy and brilliant food. Very happy. Thank you Adele
Wow had a fantastic meal the food was delicious the staff are all so friendly and inviting nothing is to much trouble for them a lovely pub with a nice relaxed atmosphere even did us a surprise happy Anniversary dessert plate made us feel special celebrating are special day so glad we went thank you
Went for a Sunday dinner treat and wasn't disappointed. The food was excellent and the bottomless gravy and Yorkshire puddings were a massive hit!
Went for Sunday lunch and was not disappointed. Great staff, great atmosphere and, most importantly, great food. My partner, son and I will definitely be returning.
Really good home made food. Judging by our meals the chef is really enthusiastic and enjoys what he is doing as everything looked and tasted fresh like it was from scratch. The staff are very welcoming and friendly and prices are reasonable. Definitely our new favourite place to eat out
We really enjoyed our visit today sitting outside in the sun. The ladies serving were wonderful. They brought out water for the dogs and a biscuit , one lady made an effort to sign back to my son who is non verbal and uses makaton and everyone was really lovely with him. They helped to work out which items were OK for my friend with allergies. Lovely friendly service and will definitely be back. The food was lovely. Children's portions were huge and they get a free ice cream! Definitely recommend a visit.
Brilliant experience. Six friends meeting up from Shrewsbury, Bath and Oxford, booked for evening meal, lovely menu, great food topped with friendly, happy and.receptive staff, our waitress Adele went above and beyond to grant all our requests and was such lovely lady that we booked in for breakfast the next morning as she was on duty then as well. Lovely breakfast and copious amounts of tea, I would certainly recommend this pub, thankyou for making our weekend a happy, positive experience.

A wonderful place and fantastic hospitality, big thank you to Sharon Belton who was so brilliant at sorting us a quiet corner for a client call. Will definitely visit again, thanks to the great food, amazing staff like Sharon and the team.
It was ok, It took 45 minutes for breakfast to be served to us. There were only 4 other tables occupied, needs a bit of a speed up. Staff in the morning were great.
