Very nice, friendly Greene King with Abbot on tap, as well as others. Food included a good range of well-marked vegetarian and vegan options, and we both enjoyed our meals I'm vegetarian my partner is a meat eater. I was mainly served by Chloe who was very helpful. There's lots of seating both inside & outdoors, with ample parking. Dog-friendly. We'll definitely visit again.
We had four roast dinners and they were superb. The meat was really thick and plentiful, big fluffy Yorkshire puddings, rosemary roast potatoes, honeyed carrots. I’d recommend asking for extra gravy for the table
Not been here for a long time and was very pleasantly surprised. A lovely place, well organized and well staffed, friendly and welcoming. Our table was ready on time, there was a sight mix up with the order, but it was handled so well 5 stars is still justified. Food was lovely and the beer was equally excellent. Will be going back again.
The food was lovely but was disappointed with the staff and outcome of my complaint. I ordered the 2 courses for £15.99 and even mentioned that was the offer I wanted, ordered my food and then when I questioned the cost was told the brownie is no longer in the deal. One of the ladies was also quite rude when I brought up the cost. I was told that I could pay again with the brownie taken off and then they would refund my previous payment which could take a week. Was disappointed really as they didn't seem like they really wanted to help and weren't particularly bothered.
Lovely place to go to celebrate - staff very friendly, polite and acomodating, with a great selection of food choices xx
Food was lovely, service was good faster than they said I would wait. Bit cold inside and maybe a little dark in places but apart from that I enjoyed my visit. Staff friendly.
We ate here with friends last night. The chefs special duck, pear & mash dish is exceptional - best chef /menu at The Rising Sun in ages. Great to use our local.again & see it busy with good caring staff & diners.
We often visit rising sun, a nice cosy pub with a lovely atmosphere and good food. Prices have risen recently but that's to be expected. The bar area to eat is much better than the restaurant we think.
Had a very rude waiter yesterday when my family went for my dad's 80th birthday who offended us!! We complained and the young girl who replaced him couldn't apologise enough, thankyou to her for making us enjoy the rest of the afternoon...only other disappointment was my mash was instant packet potatoes I could tell. Normally we have no trouble here but on this occasion the waiter ruined it for us...that's just a shame
Beautiful meal of the specials menu. We were very please and the staff were wonderful. Would highly recommend
