January 2018: Only found out about this place recently! Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Food menu has good variety but the prices are on par with a restaurant. I've had the cod and chips, which were okay, and the veggie burger so far. Recommended for its nice atmosphere and excellent gin menu. March 2018: Downgrading to 3 stars. The lunch specials aren't good value for money. This is especially true with the pasta. I had a vegetarian spaghetti dish with tomatoes and olives. Except there weren't any tomatoes or olives to be found. As I ordered quite late, about 10 minutes before the kitchen closed, I didn't bother raising it with staff. This dish, along with chips, cost £10.50. Speaking of staff, they're an interesting mix. The ones who served me before were polite and friendly. But today I interacted with new staff members. Their service and attitude left me not wanting to return. One staff member was particularly annoying with their loud, inane chatter. I understand that one needs to keep themselves entertained when there isn't much customer traffic. But this one was grating. Come in the evenings for gin but don't expect value for money. Or consistency with the staff.

Very good bar/restaurant staff, not too busy as no live music this Thursday evening. A couple of tables free to eat and room at the bar! French onion soup, whitebait, skinny fries and sweet potato chips all good, garlic bread very good. Food served within reasonable amount of time and cleared away quickly without being over fussy or waiter interrupting 😊. Would return again.

Got in on a cancellation. Great pub, buzzing and the food was great. Fantastic gin menu which would take some working through! Recommended if you are in town but you will probably need to book. Super staff as well.

Busy pub, but plenty of tables so we didn't have to wait. Good selection of drinks and good food menu. Went for a roast this time, at about £12 each it's not bad value. Really good roast, lovely meat and good selection of veg. Pleased with the service and speed, only waited 10mins for the food despite it being busy

Went here for my birthday Sunday lunch. Booked a table for about 20 and they were really accommodating and child friendly. Food was good and you aren't just limited to Sunday lunches, as they continue with other parts of the menu as well.
