An upmarket restaurant on the Ryde cost. A great place to finish our holiday.nStaff are knowledgeable with the dishes.nThe food looks gorgeous to the eye, as well as the pallet. The views of the sea are relaxing. In all the ambience of the duck restaurant is one to enjoy.
Visited 'The Duck' for my partners birthday whilst over on the island for a couple of days break. Food was lovely, with a good variety available and the service was excellent.nNice location near the seaside with parking nearby. Highly recommended.
We were over from Portsmouth for the day, wandering around Ryde just before 11 am. and wondering whether to get coffee and cake or wait and go to a restaurant. We went for option B, so we had a look online to see what was around. By the time we'd got to the top of the hill in Ryde, it was nearly noon, and we were quite peckish, but opted for the 20 minute walk to The Duck, based on the good things people had said about it online. Soooo glad we did! I'm sure there are lots of lovely places, but this was excellent. Service was attentive but not intrusive, and the cocktails, wine, food Thai soup to start, followed by baked haddock and duck duck for main, and a semi-fredo shared with coffees and music were all very impressive. Although we spent just over £100, £37.50 of that was drink, because the outing was for my partner's birthday, so we had a couple of cocktails to start, and nice glass each of Picpoul with our mains. We'd both thoroughly recommend The Duck, and suggest booking ahead to avoid disappointment. We'll definitely be going back, and have already recommended it to several people.
Food was EXCELLENT, full of flavour, service was attentive but not at all intrusive, lovely location and atmosphere. Food and drinks were very well priced, we felt the quality surpassed the price tag. Portions were a good size too, no wastage but finished our meals feeling very content.nWe left feeling very happy and satisfied. Would recommend to friends and family, we will be back!nWe had the smashed burger and pork belly
Visited for my wife's birthday whilst on holiday. We messed up the booking but still managed to accommodate us. Excellent quality food and service. Good range on the menu with some interesting choices. Certainly not just the run of the mill options! They even made an effort to celebrate the birthday. All round, excellent.
