Real nice interior with wide open French doors to let a bit of the sunlight in but surprisingly none of the street noise. Decent enough prices and food, nothing particularly stand out about the place but good enough for a bit of day drinking and snacks
Very friendly staff. Makes you feel very welcome. Fast service. A small list of what I've noticed. - Burger was juicy and tasty - Bun was not that great, it could be better - Potatoes were frozen style. - onion rings were fried onion paste ring. For the money that we've paid i was expecting a bit more but still, it was a nice meal.
Lovely wee pub with friendly staff and a nice chilled vibe. Local beers on tap. Tried the Sunday roast for the first time and will def be back again. 7.50 for a good portion of roast beef tatties and veg. Id happy pay a wee bit more for fresh veg but the frozen stuff was lovely
Do not be persuaded to order Sunday lunch leftovers....stick to the usual menus. Was promised a chunk of lovely beef side however, the slither of beef that arrived was just that, shrivelled dry corners and warmed up to order with the best instant gravy! Not the hearty, juicy plateful I was expecting for Sunday lunch....Such a disappointment!
Great bar. My only complaint was I never got the chance to eat here. We missed the kitchen opening times but when in there earlier the food looked amazing. Will go there when. I get back to Dublin.
Tried the newly refurbished Palais last week for food and the quiz. Booked a table online and the staff couldn't have been more friendly or helpful. We ordered drinks and they arrived at various points. We had ordered our food at this time too. I had the spring rolls, these were tasty, contained sweet potato instead of the usual veggies though I wish it said this on the menu as the veggie main was also sweet potato based, others had chicken wings which they liked and nachos no chilli as asked for but he was so hungry by this point he opted to eat it anyway. Mains were beef burgers, a chicken burger and a sweet potato and bean burger. The meat based burgers went down well however my veggie burger was actually sweet potato and corn. . It was also incredibly mushy, I wouldn't have this again. As the night went on and got busier the service faltered and drinks weren't going through on the til. A huge shout out to the girl Carly I think who was on the ball and noticed the lack of drinks and time things were taking. A mixed bag overall. Will maybe try food on a night when the quiz isn't on.
I had a nice meal + they have a good selection of wines + spirits. There's a bar + restaurant at front + a second cosier part to restaurant at the back. It's very bright + pleasant. The staff were lovely espec Lucy!
Great lunch time deals.Visited twice on both occasions the food was good. Pleasant and comfortable interior. Friendly staff, good service. Will definitely go there again when I next Glasgow.
Very substandard which was a shame as I was looking forward to a supposedly vegan friendly place. Only one member of staff who was the barmaid. Had to say in front of everyone sitting at the bar what I wanted from the vegan menu, which was clearly seen up on the walla blackboard with chalk writing which she acted as if it was the first time anyone had ever ordered anything from it. Then she came over to tell me there was none of what I ordered which was loaded potato skins. Rediculous considering it was the first thing written up on the blackboard and there is a fruit shop literally just across the road had they run out.... Just go across and get some potatoes! Then she told me I shouldn't bother having anything other than the burger especially not the bangers n mash as its had "many bad reviews" and it's just "a bit yukk" So I just had the burger which again didn't come with any sauces or vegan mayo when I asked a she had to go in and ask the "chef" which took a while and acting as if I should just have the ordinary mayo. I said I'll just make do with the ketchup. The burger was OK but rather plain just a bit of lettuce n tomato in a dry bun. Really disappointing especially considering I was meeting my dad there who is suffering with terminal cancer and can't just up and walk elsewhere and not many places that I could get something vegan.
