What a superb place to eat! Eat either inside, outside in a private hut, or in the Tipi! However, the star of the show is the food. I'd read reviews, it had been recommended, but nothing prepared me for just how good the food was! I had the baked mushrooms with crab, and then the seabass and was blown away by both of them. Outstanding. I'm sure we will be back, as we are planning on returning to where we are staying locally at some point!
Our dinner yesterday was delicious. We got treated like king and queen and I was really appreciated for it.. our desert was beautiful as well and we would like to say thank you very much to all the staff..
Lovely lunchtime meal. Service and food very good, lovely setting. Kids food in particular exceeded expectations. Will definitely return.
Had lunch today. Gorgeous pub, great service and delicious food. Definitely recommend if you are in the area. A must! Thank you to the lovely staff, made my birthday a real treat xx
Booked a table for a little family get together after reading the reviews. We ordered a roast beef dinner, rump steak, fish pie and macaroni cheese and ate outside in one of the private huts. The roast beef was amazing, lots of meat and vegetables and a huge Yorkshire pudding..so big that half of it went home in a box! Rump steak was also enjoyed, cooked well although could’ve done with a steak knife to eat it with. The fish pie was very dry, no sauce, just lots of fish topped with a ton of mash and served with a side salad? Ate it as it the fish was nice but fish pie normally has a sauce in it? The macaroni cheese was the real let down, no three cheeses in the sauce as described..it was a white sauce and wasn’t seasoned at all, topped with a handful of cheese but it didn’t make up for the lack of cheese in the sauce. Added lots of salt and pepper but it really was awful. Luckily ordered a side of chips so didn’t leave the table hungry. The huts are a nice touch outside, staff were friendly enough if a little thin on the ground and the food was presented well but for £100, only one alcoholic drink and one pint of juice, one flat white and one espresso served in a teacup?..and only 2 meals enjoyed can only give 3 stars. Plenty of other nice pubs to eat at in and around the area but if you do plan on going, don’t order the macaroni!!!
Service was very good, personally I would prefer a gravy boat and to pour gravy myself also thought 2 roast potatoes was not enough! All the waiting staff were very pleasant and attentive. The vegetables were all fresh and plenty of them. We all had Sunday lunch two beef and two Turkey plenty of meat and a lovely Yorkshire pudding.Food: 4/5
Great food and drinks. Only issues we had was the table we was given had servers constantly walking past which made me slightly uncomfortable as the stones on the ground kept getting accidentally kicked into my legs . The table was booked for 6 but we wasn't seated till 6:24pm however the food was fast and fresh and fairly priced. Massively recommend the chicken and ham pie!
Nice boxing day meal. I felt a bit disappointed in the vegetarian option, it was lacking, it needed a few more spuds! And the extra cauliflower cheese I ordered was very under done, but the staff weren't about enough to collect before I'd eaten everything else so I didn't bother and left it. But everything else looked great and we had a good time.
This pub was a lovely little place we visited out in the sticks, the atmosphere was friendly and so was the staff. Everything was perfect except for my sons burned sausages, we had lamb shanks and honey glazed sausages that was amazing! My son had fries beans and sausages and the sausages was just very over cooked however he still enjoyed his meal as did we however you lost a star due to the over cooked sausages on the kids meals. The staff I must say was extremely friendly and I would definitely come back and eat here again!
Went for Boxing day dinner. Starter was nice. However, was disappointed with the main meal. Beef was lovely, but the rest of my group had gammon and pork which looked overcooked and in parts uneatable. The veg was warm but was lacking the basics for fussy eaters peas and carrots, the broccoli was too hard and the gravy was basically water and little of it even with the extra jug. The service was shocking, didn't come to see if everything was alright, nearly spilt the gravy off the plate when passing the plates and couldn't even bother to say thanks for coming or goodbye when we left. I will not be going again.
