In the heart of Selby is Mister C’s Award Winning Fish & Chip Shop. Currently the best fish & chip shop in the North East region of England & in the UK's.

Story

Mister C's is a family managed business established in 1981 offering the finest quality fish and chips. We have won prestigious awards from the NFFF organisation for our staff training and development at the national Fish and Chip shop of the year competition and have been in the top 50 UK fish and chip shops for 10 years in a row!

We have a takeaway shop that is open long hours and also a fully licensed restaurant where you can dine in. We have a gluten-free evening on a Tuesday.

I am not a fan of fish and chips and only eat it in 2 places. The coast and here, I am very picky when it comes to fish and chips and all local to me just sucks. But even though this is an hour journey which isn't even still a halfway point for a coast for me. This place is close as you can get to a tasty coastal fish and chips. The taste is out of the world, the fish is fresh tasting and cooked to perfection the chips are slightly crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. The curry sauce Sorry better than mushy peas for all you mushy pea lovers never disappoints have the spicy promise it will never disappoint. I come here with my mum when I visit her, she loves it and is our little spot when we go for a nice lunch. Every time me we come here we are so happy, thank you for great taste looking forward visiting again in the future
Always delicious, hot fish and chips. Ordering before collection is ideal and makes for a swift and easy collection. Friendly helpful staff who really care that you are satisfied with your order.Food: 5/5
Dreadful. Called in about 11.45 this morning and I would guess this is reheated leftovers from yesterday. Fish was ok although batter was soggy. Chips were tough and barely warm. Two ones of each and one peas £17.80!!!! Daylight robbery for such poor quality not felt great since eating the bit's we did!

It's been along time since I have purchased fish and chips from here and will not be doing so again . Although the chips were nice ,fish not bad the size of the fish was so small for how much fish and chip cost .
We ordered in advance for collection. It was a very straight forward process with regular updates by email. The service was good and friendly. The food was delicious and good value for money.
We noticed Mr C's as we walked around and saw the free parking for half an hour. It was 4pm and we weren't hungry. But by 5pm we parked and joined the queue!! This is a popular place and in the end it was 35 minutes from joining the queue to walking away with my fish and chips! Very nice fish and chips and good value.
Good food and pretty quick even when they are cooking to order. Can't say nothing wrong.Food: 5/5
Had large fish and chips and mushy peas, plenty of undercooked chips and the fish was about the size of my hand.£9.20 to boot,stay away.
Sit down or takeaway, lovely fish and chips, great service and reasonable price. Easy to see why it won it's awards and rating.
