Very friendly run Hotel and bar. Must say though the locals do seem to take over the bar area and I understand it was close to Christmas. Maybe they could make the breakfast area another seating area in the evening for drinks when busy? Food is hearty and well cooked and prepared. Love the seaweed gin too!! Their was nothing that was too much trouble and rooms were lovely. Lovely stay.

Went for lunch on Saturday as it was my birthday and we were also visiting the gold mines. Our 2 daughters and their partners accompanied us. From the time we arrived until we left, the staff were 1st class, but the best part of the experience was the food. We all agreed it was one of the nicest pub lunches we had ever had. The food was delicious, especially the homemade pie and the burger. The desserts were also delicious. Well worth a visit to the Dolaucothi Arms, one of those hidden gems, 1st class food, friendly and healthy staff and a lovely ambience in the pub.

What a great country pub! Stopped for lunch after long cycle and had the pie of the day ( chicken, bacon, leek and cider) This was delicious. I would definitely recommend if passing through the area. Maybe the best pub lunch I've ever had ! Congratulations to the chef.
