Went for an impromptu date night to the Dog & Otter , we've been meaning to try it for food for a little while.nVery happy to say, not disappointed. The young lady who served us was very happy and very attentive. My wife had the Hunter's Chicken, the best that she has had in a long time and I had the Super Double Burger and it was very juicy and tasty, nice to see home made patty burgers.nAll in all a great night, lovely staff, good atmosphere and reasonable price.nCan't wait to go back again
Easily booked a table over the phone for a family meal, 4 adults & 4 children 1 in a highchair. From entering to eating to paying, it was all a lovely experience! The server & the chef were very pleasant & efficient, the food was typical 'pubgrub' in appearance but very tasty & nicely presented. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Very welcoming, tasty food and good amounts for our hungry appetites - thanks n
Do you know it restores your faith when you find somewhere we're nothing is too much trouble, the food is excellent and you are treated with the utmost respect. I had the rump steak cooked to perfection. I also had chocolate fudge cake and too accompany all that a rhubarb and ginger gin. Jen who is the full time manager along with her husband who is the chef and a good one at that.nnThe atmosphere was great, seating so comfortable, special offers and great company. Mean you can't go wrong. Thank you so much an excellent afternoon. You will need to book.
Popped in for a drink as we were passing by and ended up staying for some food. Staff and Service were exceptional, food was fresh and the choice was great. I went for the fish and chips and my partner had the surf and turf, both exceptional and reasonably priced! Saw a few burgers come out that looked amazing so will have to come back to try. Guinness was good too. Highly recommend.
No issues with the service at all and the staff are lovely, however the food we ordered wasn't up to scratch. We ordered a hunters chicken which was just warm and the BBQ sauce was really dry- you couldn't really call it a sauce. We also ordered a chicken and mushroom pie which was basically a microwaved packaged pie I could tell due to uneven temperatures, it was lukewarm and had hard bits over the pastry. I thought this would be homemade and hand cooked chips but no it isn't which is really disappointing. The gravy was decent but yet again, nothing homemade. We thought we would give the Dog and Otter a try but unfortunately we will go back to our usual pub the Hyndburn Bridge which serve homemade, freshly cooked food for the same price.
