Brilliant service from Olivia, and not only was the food amazing but there was so many vegetarian options for my partner as well as incredible fish and meat options for myself. Even though it was raining the view of the harbour was still lovely.
Our greeting, after asking for a table for three, was "you're making life difficult for me". I would advise that if you can't manage a pleasant greeting then best not say anything and if you don't like dealing with the public take another career path. Had I not been in company I would have left. Our food order was taken by a friendly waitress and duly arrived. One of the eggs on my plate was cooked as I would expect, but the other was overcooked with a hard yolk, although obviously still edible. This must be one of the skills chefs are taught, how to cook eggs differently in the same pan. Either that, or one was cooked previously... Although, in fairness, I wasn't asked how I would like the eggs cooked and perhaps they serve one of each to be on the safe side. Other than that, pretty standard fare. We were asked if we would like another drink and asked for two teas and a flat white coffee, we received one tea and two lattes. I've used the Dock on several occasions in the past without issue, hence our return visit today. After today's experience though, particularly the reception, I'll not be back.
Great place for breakfast, wide range of food choices and worth it just for the view.
Went here for a business lunch. Staff very welcoming and friendly. I had a salad which was large and filling my colleague fish and chips which looked lovely. Had a seat next to the front window which was stunning. No issues at all and really good quality. Will certainly return it back in Plymouth
Living locally, we have eaten at The Dock several times in the past and enjoyed the ambience and quality food. On this occasion 5 covers we received good friendly service, but quality of the food was disappointing for the price. Sweetcorn chowder soup was bland, with slushy potato. Chicken curry was watery and bulked out with multiple chunks of sweet potato. The homemade pie was tasty but chips appeared reheated. Sadly The Dock has slipped from being one of our favourite restaurants. Parking: Parking arrangements seems to change, with parking management signage threatening fines for miss-parking or overstays.
Great food in a great setting. The cappuccinos are the creamiest I’ve ever had, the brunch generous and perfectly cooked. I have visited this place several times and the quality has been consistent each time. On my last visit, a friend asked if it would be possible to have fried bread instead of mushrooms and was told that this would be fine. The fried bread came out absolutely perfect, dark gold, fairly crispy but neither too dry, nor too oily. I thought that this was pretty impressive considering also that this was not on the menu. We didn’t need the desert, but did it anyway and, along with another drink, that was all we could manage. We spent a while walking around looking at the multi million pound Princess yachts in the harbour to walk off our excesses. Would recommend this place, particularly for eating outside on a nice day. It’s tucked away and you wouldn’t expect it to be there, but once you’re in, it’s like another world. Very nice.
Amazing food!! SOOOO YUMMY! Staff are so polite! View is beautiful, food is divine!! Definitely going again! Would recommend to anyone and everyone!
Great for breakfast or brunch although the pancakes have my vote ! friendly staff , quick service , easy to get a table in the morning , parking is a bit confusing but again staff are great with explaining where to park.
Really love it here, gorgeous views, friendly staff, and tasty food! I always come here for breakfast and lunch when in Plymouth. If I had to think of one criticism is that I don't think they cater incredibly well for vegans. Choices are limited. However the chef will always cook something special for a vegan in the group.Food: 4/5
Snooty welcome! If you have a larger vehicle or van you will need to do three point parking manoeuvre to park if you're lucky. Two flights of stairs later our first impression was a middle aged man rudely commenting, *" Is that your van, it's taking up 4 spaces, have you booked!" Both my friend and I instantly felt belittled! Had I not been looking forward to catching up with her I would have walked out there and then! However, the other staff were pleasant. We ordered Eggs Florentine and Eggs Royal. Extra compliment must be given to the waitress. She really listened to how we liked our eggs cooked and relayed this information perfectly to the chef. The eggs were perfectly cooked. It's a shame about the Hollandaise sauce. That was as vinegary as our welcome. The smoked salmon was also very salty and brown in places. Other points to note the barista cannot make coconut late' but the view is lovely. Really did not feel welcome. We left and headed straight out to a more welcoming cafe' nearby to finish our morning in a more pleasant environment. *Only 1 space was used
